DISCLAIMER!!!

This guide is no longer relevant. The Ren'Py version of the game is now the default version. Now you can finally enjoy the game you purchased without having to jump through hoops.

I am offering no support for this guide, and if it eventually stops working, send FAKKU an angry comment, not me. ;)

Make the Game Actually Run!

1. Right click the game in the Steam Library.
2. Click "Properties".
3. In the new window, go to the "Betas" section.
4. In the drop-down box, select "renpybeta - Renpy Beta". A download will start.
5. After the download is complete, launch the game, and choose the top option when prompted.

Congrats, now this game will function as intended!

Bonus Stuff!

When in the game, right click at any time to find the "Preferences" menu. If you are in the bedroom, you can get there by going to "System" > "Preferences".
From here, you can set the Language (Modern English, Russian, Classic English, and German), the Resolution (orig, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x, fullscreen), and the BGM mode (modern and MIDI-style).
Press F12 at any time to cycle the font between three options. The second option is the original pixel font (or very close to it, at least). This is also the default Screenshot button, so you'll probably discover this by accident, as I did!

Combine the Classic English translation with the old-school MIDI BGM and pixel font for an experience as close to the original as possible.

I think they're trying to gather user feedback or whatnot until they're sure they want to make it the stable release. Weird that it happened completely unannounced though.

It's the full game. I completed it. Gonna change and rewrite my negative review at some point.

try set the sound and display SD to "no" in the game to fix the delay issue
