Tips the game doesn't tell you (Taken from my guide for the demo)
By Plexy
This is copied word for word from my guide I did for the demo of this game but it all applies (Along with new stuff ill add from time to time if I deem it useful). Let me know if Ive missed something, Ive been testing the game for a while now and these are useful things to know.

The flashlight isn't just for better vision
Due to lighting, you don't always feel the need to use the flashlight. But it doesn't just illuminate dark rooms, When turned on the game will briefly highlight steal-able items, often revealing things you never saw or noticed before.

Extra controls for improved movement
If you press caps lock, you Toggle walking instead of jogging as the default. Has no real purpose but if you want to immerse yourself in the game more, you can

If you press the middle mouse button, you swap the shoulder camera side.
Very useful for seeing around corners from certain angles, In first person mode this is even more useful as it allows you to lean from side to side. Meaning you can peek around corners if you insist on playing the game in its hardest form (That being, first person mode with hard mode on)
Rain does more than you think
Oddly enough, this mechanic is not yet described in game. Whenever it starts to rain you should use this as an opportunity to be a bit more ballsy in your approach, Rain dampens all sound you make, so prying open windows and general movement within a house is a lot "quieter". There is no set way to trigger rain, so use it when you can.
If there's a doorbell, use it
If you cant quite see through to where a tenant is then you can always ring the doorbell to quickly scan them and find out, to anyone who played thief simulator this will feel very strange but is a good change. Not all tenants are going to fall for the electrician disguise, so this may sometimes be your best option. As for tenants with no doorbell outside their house? You can either throw a bottle around the house and hope they investigate or just bite the bullet and buy Intel (Though I much prefer to go in blind and hope for the best, more tense that way)
You can clear the house in one swoop
This one is interesting, each house has a "thieving radius" where the game considers you on the property, if you park your car within this range you can actually unload everything into your car and go back into the house to steal more. This can be used to achieve S! Rank on every single robbery you do, giving you the most XP. I used this method to rob *EVERYTHING* In a mansion in one swoop (Dodging guards over a long period of time, obviously) But it was incredibly satisfying.

Use this early game to level up faster as improved stamina and Backpack space are very useful.

- When a pedestrian sees you carrying a large item simply throw it to the ground. There's no need to run away. When they are out of sight just pick it up again.

- All items you carry or items in your backpack that you drop will remain in the same place on the ground throughout the game so don't be afraid to drop things on the ground if you need to run as you can pick them up later when it's safer.

Here's a couple more tips I've picked up:

- You can park your vehicle inside the garage at the Sheriffs mansion. The guards don't care if they see it. I load all large items into the garage and store all backpack items into the vehicle.

- You can even use the vehicle as cover to hide behind. It can be used to block a door from guards as you are picking the lock.

- If you are carrying a large item and jump off the roof (400 for example) then you won't get stunned. You are immune to any damage at all. To do this you need to jump up to the lip of the edge of the roof then pick up the item and walk off. Be sure NOT TO FACE the edge as you will automatically jump to the ground.

Thank you mate for this info. I had no idea about the rain.

It doesn't pulse only before they move to a new place in the building, it pulses before they move at all, even if they're in the same location.

tips I'd add:
- guards/citicens think nothing of opened/unlocked doors even right in front of their faces unless they pass through it. Same goes for closed doors. Pesky guy on the toilet always walking to the open door? Just close the door when he's not looking, he won't notice. If they pass through a previously locked door, it's instapolice.
- nobody cares about big items on the ground. You haul that pc and run out of time to hide? just drop it and hide, nobody will notice
- big items take no fall damage. Second floor and you want that sweet TV? yeet it out the window, it'll be fine
- you don't take fall damage either. You'll be stunned for a second, but often times, the best way to get out of a building is to jump out of a window high up.

i also only just realised the diamond above a person will start pulsing when they're about to move to another spot in the building
