Mods To Improve The Experience
By Craig
Updated on 05/27

Navigating Nexusmods sucks and it's really easy to miss good stuff.

This a table of contents to help you easily find mods that improve the base/Sunbreak game experience without modifying the core gameplay. These mods are purely visual/auditory or minor quality of life changes that retain the vanilla balance of single and multiplayer

If you don't want to download the mods individually. I have a modpack link at the bottom of this guide.

Quality of Life Mods
FluffyManager5000- NEEDED FOR MANY MODS ON THIS LIST Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Simple mod manager for keeping track of game files call .pa. This keeps labeled paks in their own folder in the mods folder instead of the old way of having "re_chunk_pak_023" with your notepad file keeping track of which pak is while mod.
REFramework- NEEDED FOR MANY MODS ON THIS LIST Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Self explanatory.
REFramework Direct2DLink[www.nexusmods.com]
Lets you use in-game mod options menu for compatible mods
Adjustable Damage Number Size Link[nexusmods.com]
Allows you to change the size of damage numbers, make them smaller or bigger. Should be compatible with HardOrSoft mod.
Adjustable UI Scale Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Makes it so you can actually see the screen. Makes the game look less like a portable MMO with giant HUD.LET YOUR GAME BREATHE.
Better Matchmaking Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Let's you infinitely search for a quest matchup rather than timing out.
Closer Minimum Camera Distance Link[drive.google.com]
THIS LINK GOES TO MY GOOGLE DRIVE BECAUSE THE NEXUSMOD ISNT COMPATIBLE WTIH FLUFFY. I MADE IT COMPATIBLE. OKAY? Don't like how Rise's camera is so far away? This should fix that. Makes minimum camera distance closer. Adjustable distance via in-game options (via Camera settings not Mod Menu settings).
Disable Other Pets Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Makes everyone's pets invisible with the exclusion of yours. Less screen clutter
Disable Profanity Filter Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Now can you enjoy the same level of verbal abuse you would in other games!
Force Display Settings Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Forces specific display settings (Output Display, Screen Mode (Windowed, Borderless or Fullscreen), Resolution, Display Frequency, Aspect Ratio, Framerate, V-Sync) on the game launch.
Guild Card Titles Sorted by Name Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Resorts all the guild card titles by name.
Improved Inputs Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Disability friendly :) Hold down buttons to activate them continuously. Supports KB&M and controller. All attack buttons, all keyboard combo binds, dodge, interact, use item and the keyboard shortcut bar. Disabled in lobby. The mod checks your primary keybinds only.
Gems - Decorations - Sorted by Skill Name or Gem Name
Link[www.nexusmods.com]
This not being in the game by the default is just evidence that we're all meant to suffer under the hands lords who own the land we so gladly work.
No Copyright on Camera Screenshots Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Removes the "yeah Capcom owns this game, so we own your picture" message at the bottom right of all camera screenshots. No it doesn't work retroactively, don't be stupid.
‎ ‎
No Monster Kill-Cam Plus Disable Stylish SlowMo Finishers Link[www.nexusmods.com]
  • Enable or disable quest target slow mo finisher
  • You keep control of your character
  • *Can be configured, you can keep the kill cam or remove the slow motion feature or disable everything including annoying such as the active camera changing angles at the end of a quest.
No Mandatory Wyvern Rides Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Makes it optional to ride Wyverns. You can continue to hit and damage them and can only ride when sheathed and pressing your Circle/B button. Yes this in the game but this also lets you disable Wyvern Riding for other players if hosting (something that should be a feature).
Remove Anomaly Red Overlay Link[www.nexusmods.com]
For those who dislike the excessive particle effects or want to reduce clutter without taking away from the effects with the ingame slider. Whatever your reason may be
Remove Town Interaction Delay Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Removes the ~3s period after closing a menu where you can't interact with anything in town.I can't remember life without this.
Skip game launch intros Link[www.nexusmods.com]
This is said to be unstable and buggy but just works for me. Use at on your own risk.
Cosmetic

Baby Cahoot Hat Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Replacemes Monksnail Hat or Guild Cross Circlet, unisex
Bloody Broken Parts for MHRise_Sunbreak Link[www.nexusmods.com]
They turned the post part breaking shading/bruising/discoloration into a more bloody reaction. Very mixed results on quality with this one. Some look great, some look like ketchup.
Bigger Pony Tails Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Makes most pony tails BIEG.(Hair physics might get wild with certain hairstyles). I really only suggest this because big hair just fits the MH vibe.

Chargeblade Shield Invisible Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Visually hides your chargeblade shields and one hands the sword.
Disable Other Players Pets (Visual Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Reduces visual clutter in multiplayer and hides other players pets.
Layer Any Weapon Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Allows you to layer any weapon with another, useful for modded weapon skins or that classic favorite weapon design. Kind of buggy and updates usually break this mod. I would do more investigation if you really want this.
No More Bikini Armor, MHR Leggings Pants and Bodysuits Overhaul Link[www.nexusmods.com]
(I thought some ladies might appreciate this one. I just hate coomer/gooner bikinis in Monster Hunter).
From the author
This is mod is an overhaul of nearly every armor in the game that doesn't already come with pants or leggings. For some of these it was just a matter of adding leggings instead of those funny shorts, for others it changes chest pieces for more of a bodysuit kind of look. Every modification is in the images for you to check out. I tried to keep as much of the original armor as possible, keep the flavor of the armor just change the clothing style underneath.
Rathian Head Plushie Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Replaces leather helmet equipment with a cute lore-friendly Rathian plush. Female only unfortunately but it's nice to see on people when playing mp.
Weapons Stay Big Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Weapons have been shrinking when you sheathe them for far too many years (over a decade). This mod fixes that and keeps weapons true to size at all times. Your greatsword or hammer will look much larger on your back now.

Sword and NO Shield Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Removes all SNS shields, characters maintains a balled fist.

Less Kamura Points from Account Items and Subquests Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Halves the amount of Kamura Points you get from account items, cuts the amount of Kamura points from Subquests by one-third.

No Supply Items Link[www.nexusmods.com]
RETRO Gathering Link[www.nexusmods.com]
The gathering mod nobody asked for, but was made because I was bored. Most gathering is done the bone-style fashion, one at a time, a random number of times. Gathered items pop up like in the old games. Only works for bonepiles and mining spots for me and select account items. Unfortunately you can't hold down the gathering button like you can in World and GU.
Spiribirds Don't Give Buffs Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Spiribirds no longer give buffs, and only give Kamura Points and zenny at the end of the quest instead.
Weaker Palico and Palamutes Link[www.nexusmods.com]
Halves buddy damage.
Modest Coomer Material

EBB Muscle Mommy Busty Female Armor Pack Link[nexusmods.com]
Idk what EBB means but those knockers are huge. Any armor sets you desire that are missing can probably be found searching "EBB" or something like "skimpy".

yaaaay now everyone is included <3
Lore Friendly Pre-Made QoL ModPack
I will repost my modpack sometime today

1.Setting up Reframework to run mods
1. Download the lastest reframework from Nexus Mods[www.nexusmods.com]
2. Extract dinput8.dll to steamapps\common\MonsterHunterRise
3. Run the game, let it get to the title screen then exit.

2. Installing my modpack quick
1. Download FOLDER BEING REPLACED
2. Extract to steamapps\common\MonsterHunterRise

3. Configure mod settings in-game
Make sure to press the Insert key and click on Script Generated UI if you want to configure certain mods
WHAT DO I DO IF THE GAME UPDATES AND MY MODS BREAK
Update Fluffy Mod Manager. Disable all your mods in Fluffy with the "Uninstall button" (they'll stay on your computer). Re-read game archives. Verify the integrity of game files by right clicking MH Rise and LMB properties in your Steam library. Re-enable your mods, re-read game archives (cus I actually forgot which part you do this, so do it twice for me).

If it is a reframework mod that is breaking it, update reframework and go on about your business or remove the dinput.dll from your main game folder until reframework gets an update.

I don't care how mad you are about being a coomer :theathlete:
Tom 17 Sep, 2023 @ 8:57am
I love being called a coomer/gooner just for liking something that has always been in Monhun. I'm sure the designers who made them think so too.
It really is not that hard not to come off patronizing, and still there's certain people who always fail at it.
Craig  [author] 23 Jul, 2023 @ 11:34pm
All mods that change cosmetics are client side only. In multiplayer it will show the stock / default rendering to other players.:ccknight::100percent:
TurboRipper 23 Jul, 2023 @ 9:28pm

Ender Zayne 15 Jun, 2023 @ 1:28am
Better Matchmaking is all I needed from here. Thanks. I wish the matchmaking was like World's - my only gripe with Rise.
