As i shortly mentioned , i couldn't really wrap my head around the ideology of a Red fire extinguisher. Yes it is red, and it is quite symbolic. But you know what else is symbolic , red color for red team and blue color for the blue team. These fire extinguishers just feel like intruders that were left by the opponents to spy and gather information. Hear me out, they are invincible (i stood there and shot at a fire extinguisher for an hour or so and it didn't break), they fool any other player for "simply being a map decoration", and most finally, they don't even extinguish flames.

Some other brave soul might have already done this research of sorts, and perhaps there is someone better out there to do it, but i personally will start this research rolling to find all the infiltrator extinguishers.

There are currently 3 fire extinguishers:

Contains only 2 red fire extinguishers in the blue base.

ctf_well contains 3 extinguishers.

2. On the both sides of the stairs in the room above the intel.




Map which contains whole 6 fire extinguishers on the blue side.
1.As soon as you spawn in.
2.Surrounding the powerup.
3.In a communication room.
4.By the main gate.
5. Chokepoint to medkit

Dear readers might have questions about some CTF maps i didnt mention in the previous part. Yes, there are maps which lack fire extinguishers. Current examples are:

Which i personally can call a fire hazard by simply not having ANY fire extinguisher in map located whatsoever. There are simple examinations i did by researching these maps and their surroundings.
And i can comment on one thing about CTF_SAWMILL having a fire extinguisher case, but lacking an extinguisher inside of it.

From current investigations, i have found these several clues about fire extinguishers mostly existing around intel rooms, as if secretly gathering some sort of information.

From what i understand is, that fire extinguishers found themselves in 2Fort battlements in 1968, when the whole gravel war started. They were separated in different parts of the badlands to gather information and to "extinguish flames". There were several attempts to spread the fire extinguishers across all the land to gather the information (*editors note, from current studies, i have not found out yet why fire extinguishers are found around or close to intel briefcases*).
Most of the attempts to gather intelligence were quite successful. But there were few bad apples in that mission.
A fire extinguisher was placed briefcase room for the information gathering. But the mission failed miserably due rainy weather.



Sawmill was the rainiest battle field, it flooded all the fire extinguisher communication servers, and made the extinguisher spy flee the scene, as he understood that most of the information was corrupted. Now just leaving an empty shell and a sign that extinguisher was once here. Now the sawmill briefcase safe is mostly guarded by the turtle engineers and at a times, rare pyrosharks.




There was a battlefield built in 1969 above an active volcano where mercenaries fought against each other using grappling hooks and power-ups. And also there was a plan to place an extinguisher at the crater of the volcano where the intelligence was held. After one day of holding a fire extinguisher underneath the briefcase, it was sprayed with the hot flames from the magma underneath and molten the bolts off the platform, making the extinguisher fall into flames, explode and then absorb it into the molten magma.




In the August of 1968, there were placed fire extinguishers in Landfall to gather the information on the maps briefcase, but it also failed due information being blocked by the giant trees around the battlegrounds of landfall.



So the project "Tree-feller 2 Million" began in the early September. Then it also was cancelled because the second """special""" sawblade for the Tree feller was missing, and the second one was impaled on the wall of the Blue base..... and the device innards were scattered around the battlefield left to rust.



What are fire extinguishers do? Extinguish the device parts together? So fire extinguishers left the Landfall due having no use in a sawmill which also doesn't work.


Fire extinguishers simply didnt have to do anything here, because the height of the base, constant thunders and lightning storms breaking the information frequencies rendering them unable to de-cipher the code.

The research is currently still a (work in progress) and i personally don't know when it will be completed.
This is all the information i can give you.
