Putt-Putt and Pep are driving through the Cartown country side with some balloons. Putt-Putt then tells Pep to hold on to the balloons. Pep then opens his mouth to bark and the balloons float into the air. Putt-Putt and Pep then set out to pop all of the balloons.

Main Menu Options
Play New Game:

On this screen, you'll need to select or a Create Profile Save before you can start playing
Balloon-O-Rama.

You can use your Keyboard or Mouse to enter a Profile Name or select a Profile Name on the List. You can even change the color of your name. If there's a Profile Name you don't want, press the DELETE Button or press the GO BACK Button to return to the Main Menu. Once you've selected a Name from the Profile List or entered a New Profile Name, press the GO Button to start playing Cheese Chase. Up to 75 Profile Names can be saved here.

Are you ready to Play Balloon-O-Rama?

Use the UP or DOWN Arrows to select a Level to start. However, you can only play Levels that you've already been to or progressed to. After you've chosen a Level to start on Press the GO Button to start Playing or the STOP Button to return to the Main Menu.

Like many of the Junior Arcade games, Balloon-O-Rama features a Junior Helper option. It is found by moving the mouse to the bottom of the screen while in the level selection menu.

This particular junior helper has two choices: Never Lose Pep & Easy Catch.

Never Lose Pep: When this option is activated, it acts as the Infinite Lives Cheat.
Easy Catch: When this option is activated, You'll be able to Catch Pep alot easier.

Balloon-O-Rama's gameplay is similar to that of Breakout, a 1976 Atari arcade game. Each level of the game has old scenes from Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon, Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo and Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise.

In the game, a layer of Balloons lines the top third of the screen. Use Pep to Pop all the Balloons to proceed to the next Level. When a Balloon is hit, Pep bounces away and the Balloon is Popped. The player loses a life when Pep touches the bottom of the screen. To prevent this from happening, the player needs to move Putt-Putt using the mouse to bounce Pep upward, keeping him in play.

To launch Pep into the air, Use the Left-Click Button on the Mouse.

Balloon-O-Rama starts with 3 Lives & you'll need all the Lives you can get. You get an Extra Life if you Earn enough Points or find a 1-UP & if you lose all your lives, it's Game Over.

If you want to return to the Main Menu during the Game, Click on the EXIT Balloon at the Start of Each Level.


Power-Ups
Rubber Band: Extends Putt-Putt for a short duration.
Pep Plush (1-UP): Grants you an Extra Life.
Space Helmet (Balloon Time): This makes Pep Bounce slower for a short duration.

Cape (Super Pep): This makes Pep pop more than one Balloon at a time & he won't hit any bumpers or Paint Cans for a short duration.

Magnet (Magnet Pep): Enables you to relaunch Pep into the Air for a short duration.


Items
Balloons: Pop these to earn Points.

Gold Coins/Dog Tags/Butterlies/Suns/Starbursts: Popping Multiple Balloon will earn you these items. They add to the Points Bonus.

Spotted Balloons: Popping these will release Fun Items. Catch them to get Bonus Points.

Stripped Balloons: Popping these will release Nasty Items. Aviod them or you'll Lose Points.

Flower Balloons: Popping these will release BOTH Fun & Nasty Items. Catch the Fun Items while avoiding the Nasty Items.

Paint Cans: Dumping one of these onto Putt-Putt will change his Color.

Bumpers: Bounces Pep in different directions.

Pinwheels: Bounces Pep Upward or Downward.

Bonus Spaceships: These Appear in the Bonus Stages. Destroying them will release Aliens.
Catch them to get Bonus Points.

Bowling Balls: Avoid these as they will stop Putt-Putt from catching Pep for a split second.

Mystery Balloons: Popping these will Reveal a Power-Up.

Spaceships: Destroying one of these will take you to the Bonus Stage.

There's 120 Levels Total in Balloon-O-Rama. Once you've beaten all 120 Levels, you'll become the best Balloon-O-Rama Popper ever!

When you're done with your "Hooray" Session, you can choose to Play Again by clicking YES to return to the Main Menu or NO to Exit to Windows after the End Credits & you've beaten 120 Levels.

This is the Best Part of Balloon-O-Rama. You can make & play your OWN Levels since ScummVM Supports Balloon-O-Rama's Level Editor Feature!

First, download the ScummVM Emulator here:

Then, follow these steps:
1. Insert your Putt-Putt & Pep's Balloon-O-Rama Standalone
or Super Duper Arcade Vol. 1 CD into your Disc Drive.

2. Click on QUIT at the autorun.
3. Open the CD
4. Create a new Folder on your C Drive and Name it: "HEGames".

5. Create a New Folder in your HEGames Folder & Name it "PuttBalloon"

6. Copy the Putt-Putt & Pep's Balloon-O-Rama Standalone or the Super Duper Arcade Vol. 1's
Putt-Putt & Pep's Balloon-O-Rama CD Files to your PuttBalloon Folder on your Hard Drive.

7. Run the ScummVM Installer & follow the instructions shown.

8. DON'T Open Putt-Putt & Pep's Balloon-O-Rama just yet. If you're using a newer computer,
you'll need to use the ScummVM Emulator.

9. Open ScummVM
10. Select "ADD GAME"

11. Find the folder where Putt-Putt & Pep's Balloon-O-Rama is Installed on your Hard Drive,
select CHOOSE & then select OK.
After that, the game should be added to the ScummVM Library.

12. Highlight Putt-Putt & Pep's Balloon-O-Rama,
then Double-Click on it to start or select START.

13. Enjoy

Bonus Stages:
Try to hit all the UFOs & Rescue all the aliens that fall. They're all worth 50pts each. But hitting the Ground will end the Bonus Stage.

Power-Ups:
Try to collect as many Power-Ups as you can & use them wisely. But be careful NOT to Hit the Ground, otherwise you'll lose not only a life but the Power-Ups you have.

Candies & Junk:
Try to collect as many Candies as you can. They're worth 50pts each. But watch out for junk, you'll lose 50pts each.

Off-Screen Bonus:
If Pep goes off the Screen, you'll earn Bonus Points.

Chain Bonuses:
Try to set off as many chains as you can while Popping the Balloons. 1 Chain is worth 2pts, 2 Chains is worth 5pts, 3 Chains is worth 10pts, 4 Chains is worth 20pts, 5 Chains is worth 50pts & 6 Chains and above are worth 100pts each.

Color Changing:
When hitting a Balloon containing a Paint Can, you can change Putt-Putt's Color. This time around, there's 8 different Colors.

Paint Can Colors:

4. Orange
5. Blue
6. Green
