SteamDev is the Devbranch version of Kingspray on Steam. SteamDev allows players to play on custom levels in single or multiplayer modes that are created by the community and also adds an additional feature called hand grab movement. 90% of PC users play on the SteamDev version of the game to take advantage of the custom level system and hand grab movement. There are currently over 40 custom levels available to download for free.

How to install SteamDev

Installing the SteamDev version of the game is very easy. Follow the steps in the image below to convert the steam version of the game into the SteamDev version of the game. Once you've installed the SteamDev version of the game you will need to head over to the Kingspray Graffiti folder inside your Documents folder on your PC and create a new folder and rename it to Bundles

(If you do not have a Kingspray Graffiti folder in your Documents folder, you may need to launch the game after installing the SteamDev version of the game and make a save inside of any level)

How to install Custom Levels

To install custom levels on the SteamDev version of the game you will need to add 2 files into the Bundles folder. You will need a .ksp file which is the custom level and a .jpg file to view the custom level thumbnail in game.

Hand Grab Movement

To enable hand grab movement or also known as "flying" you have to go into your in-game phone settings and turn on hand grab. After you've done that, click and hold the flashlight button for 3 seconds until you hear a click. Once you hear a click you can grab and pull yourself in any direction. This will allow you to reach higher places in the level without the need to stack objects to stand on.


The game currently does not have crossplay. This means that Steam cannot play with SteamDev or Rift S or the Oculus Store version of the game.

To easiest way to play custom levels on the SteamDev version of the game with others in public or private lobbies is to download a tool called Kingspray MapHandler. This tool can be installed anywhere on your desktop but it is recommended to place it inside of the Kingspray Graffiti folder. The game only allows for one for one slot to be used to play custom maps in multiplayer. This means that which ever map is first in numerical order inside of your Bundles folder will have priority in loading when joining a public or private lobby. The Kingspray Maphandler lets you choose whichever level you want to play online and automatically renames that level to have a number "0" in front of the name to ensure that the game loads you into that level when joining a session. (Note: If you are the Host you do not need to rename any levels inside of your Bundles folder, only people that are joining you will need to use the maphandler.)


The Director System allows you to present your work in a cinematic views. To enable the Director System you will need to use a number pad or you can use a on-screen keyboard. (Note: Sometimes Director System won't work. If it doesn't work, try clicking on the Kingspray Graffiti Window when the game is open before using the number pad) The best way to enable director system is by following these commands in this order on the number pad:
1. Enter (starts director)
2. . (disables auto scene cutting)
3. / (disables player tracking for still shots)
4. 1-9 (changes camera angle)

List of number pad commands:
Enter - Turns on Director view and it will automatically cut to different camera angles.
/ - Enables/disables player tracking.
. - Enables/disables Auto cutting
1-9 - Switch shots manually
0 - Shows/Hide Director System panel
