A growing number of "Game Guide" sites are appearing on the web that simply harvest guides from Steam using bots, Ads are then placed alongside the guides and site owner then profits from the hard work of others. Indiefaq, Steamlists, Steamah & Steamsolo are the biggest culprits, please do not support these content stealing cretins.

Ashley Clark: Secret of the Ruby has a total of 32 Steam achievements, of these 9 are story related and the remaining 23 achievements are missable, as for completion time, this is in the region of 2 and a half hours.

MAIN GAME.
Compared to most hidden object games, earning 100% achievements in Ashley Clark: Secret of the Ruby is a simple affair. The 9 story related (unmissable) achievements mostly, if not all pop when reaching certain points in the game and the 23 missable achievements are all tied to completing specific mini-game puzzles.

There are no achievements tied to difficulty, tutorials, cut scenes, nor hidden object scenes. Quite simply, play the game and do not skip any of the mini-game puzzles and you will earn 100% achievements.

COLLECTABLES.
There are collectables to be found in the game that take the form of Rubies. While there are no achievements relating to locating these gems, those wanting to play without a walkthrough will want to make an effort to find them.

The reason for this is each Ruby located grants an additional use of the hint button. While most HOG's grant unlimited use of hints with a timer between uses, Ashley Clark: Secret of the Ruby limits the total number of times you can use it during the game.

At the start of the game you are granted 3 uses and you will earn 3 or 4 additional uses as you progress through the game. The only way to obtain more, is to make an effort to find the collectables.

BONUS CHAPTER.
Ashley Clark: Secret of the Ruby does not have a bonus chapter.

I encountered a couple of bugs playing Ashley Clark: Secret of the Ruby, none of which will prevent you from completing the game or from earning 100% achievements.

The most common bug I encountered was that of missing or incomplete voice acting. Sometimes (rarely) it seemed to be working as intended. Other times entire sections were missing, yet the NPC's mouth continued to move as though talking, other times there was no mouth movement nor speech, just text on screen and at times the words did not match the text on screen. It was a bit of a mess to be quite honest.

While this does hurt the immersion and storytelling, it thankfully does not prevent you from playing and completing the game.

It should also be noted that large portions of voice acting is not the only thing missing, there are also large portions of the game with no background music.

The second bug that I encountered related to Puzzle #11, the rotating rings table lock puzzle in the Kitchen. I was happily working on the puzzle, rotating the rings and then all of a sudden the rings aligned themselves completing the first part of the puzzle for me. Thankfully, I was able to complete the puzzle and earn the Archaeologist achievement linked to the puzzle.

There is one set of collectables to find in Ashley Clark: Secret of the Ruby which take the form of Rubies. There are no achievements linked to collecting these Rubies, however, each one collected grants you an additional use of the hint button. As such, if you are trying to play without following a guide it would be prudent to make an effort to find them.

I have to confess that upon starting the game I did not realise there were collectables to find until I was about half an hour into my playthrough. As such I did not personally collect them all in my game, I have however, marked all of those I could see in my video walkthrough during editing and have added screenshots of those in the Collectables chapters.

In total I found 28, I have no idea if this is all of them, I've made an effort to find out how many there should be, sadly to no avail.

In short, make sure to complete all the mini-game puzzles during the game to ensure earning 100% achievements.

Please note that, as of the time of writing (2nd May 2022), Ashley Clark: Secret of the Ruby is currently "profile limited" so achievements will not yet count towards profile totals, I'm somewhat unsure of the process, but given the game was published more than 9 years ago, it is unlikely the restrictions will ever be lifted.
