Train basics
Before we can discover unexplained things that haunts the metro tunnels, we need to understand our trains first. There are two trains in the game. "Russia" is modern train and "Oka" is older train. They have different design, but their control is the same.

How to get ready to roll:

(1) Turn on the battery
They are behind your back.

(2) Put reverser in forward mode

(3) Select the line that you are going to drive
Press "Route selection", if you are going down the line and have unclicked "Route selection" if you are driving in reverse order.)

How to drive the train:

(1) Use W & S to move between the acceleration, braking and neutral modes.

(2) Stop at the end of the platform near the white rectangle with black stripes (End of the station)

How to use voice announcer and doors:

(1) Announce the station that you are heading to by pressing i.
I tends to receive points, when I press i, as the first car fully entered the platform.

(2) Select the correct doors (Left or Right), then click the "Close doors" button to release the blocking mechanism and finally open the correct doors by third button "Open left doors" or "Open right doors".

(3) Before closing doors, announce the next stop (i). After the announcement is done, close the doors by clicking "Close doors" and wait until they are closed and secured (Notice the two green lights near each other, which signal that both sides are securely closed.)

(4) After that you can drive to the next station.
Traffic regulations
Now when we know how to prepare the train and how to manipulate with it, we can progress to the traffic side of the metro. Two main rules here are signals and speed.

Signals:
Blue: You can progress.
Red: You cant progress. (Unless dispatcher allow you to do so.)

Track boxes:
There are track boxes near the tracks throughout the whole metro. They are affecting your maximal speed limit. They are laid like this: Two are close to each other and third one is in a distance.

It seems that only the first track box interest us. It first detect the incoming change of speed and then from the speed sign itself, or from the next first track box your speed may change.

If your speedometer detect change of speed, but the yellow bar disappear before you get towards another first track box, then the train ahead of you left the next section of track boxes, which permit you to drive without speed restriction, but as soon, as you reach another first track box, the yellow bar most likely show up again.

If you get too close to the train ahead of you, the yellow 60 km/h will change to red 60 km/h and the yellow line will go down to 40 km/h, after that the yellow 40 km/h will change to red 40. This will be again disappearing, but the red 40 km/h will stay. When you get so close, that the red line will be about to fall to 0 km/h, press and hold the vigilance button U and continue at 20 km/h until your speed limit will change.

Speed limits:

On the tachometer you can see your actual speed at the moment. The red line shows the speed limit and the yellow line shows the incoming change of speed. It can go up, but also down. The speed changes are from two main reasons:

(1) The limitation of the infrastructure
Tracks speed limits.

(2) The limitation of the throughput
Other trains ahead of you. You can see when the last train departed from the station by looking at timer near the clocks above the entrance in to the tunnel.

If you break the speed limit, the train will apply emergency brake and you will be fined by 1 000 points.
