Whistler Files

Beskrivning
A while back the race data for the unused Whistler race got removed from the base game's files. For vanilla this is not such a big deal, but for any mods that used that data for anything it caused a number of problems.

This mod simply restores the data, so that any mods can use it again. Anyone is free to use this mod or its data however they please for Kenshi content, be it as a dependency, or simply merging it straight in, etc.

Thanks Shidan. Lot of head scratching & lost game play trying to figure this one out.

There is no official lore about them, as they were only accidentally left in the game (hence their removal later on). There was a single line of dialog about them, the referenced them as the Headless Ancient mentioned in the Tech Hunter notes.

Best guess is that if they were ever planned to be used, this would have been what Narko originally was. It would fit with the HN's religious legends, feminine and heavily modified by technology. But that is pure speculation.

If I remember correctly they’re a siren-like fog creature that lures peeps into the fog to eat them or something

is there any lore on them? where were they going to be found, are they human? etc etc

This mod does not add them into the game, it just puts the data back that was removed in vanilla. It still needs another mod to actually use the race.

It should in theory be compatible with any mod at all, as long as you keep it near the top of your load order. If the mod tries to use the old vanilla data, it should be able to access this mod's version of it. And if none of your mods use the old vanilla data, then this mod does nothing gameplay wise.

does this add them into the game or simply makes puts the files "back"?
Does the mod The Whistler - Race Mod even need this or does this cause any effect on that mod?
