Colossal: easiest settings
1. Shape: Hexagon (source: people on the official Discord, I believe them)
2. Size: Colossal duh
3. Mines: Low
4. Generation: Guaranteed Solveable
5. Themes to use while working on the achievement: Classic or Old-school, the fancy ones are too cluttered to be able to see numbers and work efficiently and not miss anything.
Strategy
1. You're gonna have a hard time. It's gonna take a while.

2. Mute any sounds/music that you find annoying and put on some Lo-fi Hip Hop or similar in the background.

3. Don't play tired. Yes you can quit, it should autosave and next time you'll be back where you were.

4. You need to finish in less than 52 min 35.7 seconds. Why? See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_humorous_units_of_measurement#Microcentury

5. That's 3157.5 seconds. I finished my first Colossal in 3625, so don't think that you can just chill your way to this achievement.

6. Only quitting the entire game will stop the clock, so if you need a bathroom break or w/e, you need to quit the game.

7. Consider initially focusing on always going into unopened areas of the map. I do this by rotating the map so that the screen is mostly filled with unexplored terrain and then I work toward that by prioritising clicking away from the most recent mine I encountered using 1- and 2- squares as much as possible. You will fairly quickly learn what situations are more easily and quickly handled. Specifically:

A. An 'open' 3 hexagon. I.e., half of the hexagons next to that are already cleared.
B. Two open 2 hexagons right next to each other.
C. Remember, click away from the mine if you get a 1 hexagon right next to a mine. This increases your chances of clearing more of the map quickly, and connecting open areas.

8. On Low mine setting you can click a few times while opening a game in order to get a few cleared areas that you can work on connecting, but I wouldn't spend too much time on this as you'll more efficiently clear into territory using the above strategies.

9. As soon as you get a deep clear - i.e., a rift opens up and a cleared area kind of snakes its way away from you, follow it and prioritise going further into uncleared territory. Opening up uncleared territory this way maximises your chance of approaching difficult areas from the opposite side, and you'll have more numbers to work with right off the bat when you get to difficult spots.

10. The endgame can involve some scrolling. Pick a spot and then go vertically til you get back where you were and you haven't found anything, and then go horizontally for the same. Zoom out a bit.

11. Once you start getting nervous that a little misclick will ruin this for you, it's time to either take a break (QUIT THE GAME), or zoom in and make sure you have less visual clutter and less chance of accidentally hitting the wrong hexagon. Slow down.

12. But don't slow down too much or you'll be like me and be about 7.8 min too late. Doh!

13. P.s. You can rebind the scrolling keys to be more convenient for you. I switched the up/down and left/right scroll keys since it's more intuitive for me that way. You do you.

Now go and play some Vampire Survivors. Or send some money to Ukraine. Slava Ukraini! Putin khuylo!

Here's a picture I took of a cute cat in Costa Rica:

No mention of chording? Aka Area Reveal in the control settings.

That allowed me to go fairly quickly with a 2705.26 on my first real try. It also allowed me to relax my hand more with spamming the keybind for area reveal and only clicking for flagging mines and moving the globe.

I say real try, because I tried doing it last night, did triangle because I find it more fun, realized I would not get it after only being halfway through at almost and hour. Went ahead and did hexagons, but I was clearly too tired and made a mistake halfway through (again, I didn't just forfeit the triangle one)
