Are there constant enemy aircraft respawns on all of the versions? I'd be down to just slowly whittle away on everything solo but I couldn't keep up, felt like it was sending waves of 4-6 new aircraft at me every few minutes.

Now i just played the "normal full" version, there was wind but everything was under rasonable parameters. I was looking for the event weather thing and didnt find anything, it is show in the OBJ list? or maybe there was any event at all.

damn i wish baha realeased the feature that allow us to select manually an unlocked spawn point midgame before the weather feature. This way we could just switch to spawn in the airfields in the weather event, making it more bearable until it past.

I was about to complain about the weather, but i see so many comments already.
I think the weather feature is not ready for this kind of mission, I mean i get it, it cool when you are forced to takeoff/land sideways, but it not funny when you just spawn and the tip of my wings get rip off. While carriers usually help align with favorable winds, they can't do so here since the fleet is navigating the river, giving the urgency factor, thing that is good idea, give ace combat vibes and should not be changed, but i think is not compatible with the weather feature. The weather ignores terrain, which should funnel winds along the river instead of acting like it’s open sea
Im telling this cuz my experience in "normal quick" version, i wasnt aware that it was an event, but danm sure the game make you know there was something wrong, i thought i was a weather bug from a map that wasnt updated for the new feature.
