How to have massive Equip Load at any level
By Dansilvas
Want to be able to wear almost anything with Light/Med Load for 3 minutes? Then follow this guide. Not clickbait. I'm serious. What I will show you in this guide completely breaks the game and especially PvP.

What is it?
To have an absurd amount of equip load, first you must obtain the "Winged Crystal Tear".

It is located in the northern part of the Capital Outskirts, its location is shown on the map below.
(You must have access to the Altus Plateau. You can gain access by either defeating the boss of the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, or obtaining the two halves of the Dectus Medallion.)
How to use it?
To use the Winged Crystal Tear, simply insert it in your Flask of Wondrous Physick at a grace spot.

Upon drinking it, the Winged Crystal Tear will provide a x4.5 boost to your equip load for 3min . Enjoy breaking the game and wearing a full Bull-Goat set with light/med load even as a caster with low Endurance.

As an example of how much equip load you'd have at starting Endurance:
10 END = 48.2 * 4.5 = 216.9 Equip Load .

Here are some comparison screenshots from my 47 END character (not required at all as shown above, it just happens to be the only character I have to show a difference with) :

This is broken!
Yes, very much so. For exclusively singleplayer-focused players it might not hold much importance, since they don't have to worry about PvP and they can just level Endurance forever so eventually equip load won't be an issue for them. But if you care anything AT ALL about PvP and the online part of this game this thing is a HUGE problem.

This Crystal Tear essencially makes leveling Endurance practically obsolete for PvP-focused players. Every character already starts out with a huge amount of stamina so the only efficient usage of leveling it is equip load so you can have strength builds with heavy armor and heavy weapons. However, this Crystal Tear augments your maximum equip load so much that you won't have to level Endurance at all if you're mostly interested in duels (and to a smaller extent, invasions).

This effect lasts for 3min. Few invasions last longer than that. Most duels last less than a minute.

Worst of all, this can be acquired by any character at any point in the game. With the proper pathing, you don't have to beat any bosses to obtain this item.

Imagine you're a new player, playing with a friend in Limgrave. All of a sudden, an invader with full Bull-Goat armor and two guts Greatswords charges at you and begins to absolutely destroy you and your friend while rolling around like he's wearing a dagger and some rags.

I created this guide so more people are aware of this issue. Most of the PvP discussion is currently centered around Bleed builds, Hoarfrost Stomp, Moonveil or the level meta (which is understandable, and those things should be discussed), but this item will become a massive issue in the coming months if not heavily nerfed.

If you know any representative of FromSoftware, or know anybody that does, I ask for the sake of the PvP community that you report this unbalanced item to them.

My suggestions for balancing this item are to:
a) reduce the duration to 15s - 30s
- or -
b) reduce the amount to x1.2

My sincere hope is that this will be nerfed in the future. For now, enjoy your massive equip load.

you do make a very compelling point, i like that way of looking at it better, i was wrong-ish. never thought of just how toxic an angry it could potentially make the community towards each other, but i get it, that would totally suck and I prolly would get mad over having everyone force me to a playstyle i dont enjoy which i guess would defeat the purpose altogether

I really think From is just inept at balancing things
like remember blood/hollow builds in ds3 before the nerf, same thing is gonna happen here, and it's gonna be useless, instead of you know working a way to balance them

oh and of course dlc weapons are gonna be inbalanced as per usual, I mean not like I wasn't gonna buy the dlc but like, I always like to point it out you know.

Regardless, allegedly, Law of Regression does completely negates a flask effects, which is like yeah cool, but if we're having a real arena in DLC, flasks should just be disabled inside it.

It's one thing to have a build based around buff, where you know you invest the stats, for it, it means you can't do other things, or not as good, but this shitty potion it's just a free pass, where there is literally no downsides in using it, "Oh I don't wanna deal with poise", "Oh, I don't wanna deal with equip load", "Oh, I don't wana deal with..."
I can't even understand how they came up with such a stupid idea design

especially when on the other end of the spectrum you've got shit like Malenia's rune which is overbalanced

Like fr, I played the game start to finish in offline, like I did with ds3, before interracting with the online in the post game, since it's what kept me playing ds3 for so long.

And so during my playthrough my main and only interraction with the physisk flask was the base shit you get, iirc half heal + guardbreak easier, and it was just fine, I'm really not the kind of player, who likes to cast 7 buffs before doing anything, I just want to get in and deal with the combat itself.

And silly me goes online, try the duelling sign, rows after rows of people just drinking this shitty free pass potion of bullshit, no idea what's the difference between the wavy lines or the flowing lines, at least in sekiro you had a symbol on top of your character when applying a buff, why didn't they bring that back for physiks when they do it for the gideon staff idfk.

if and when the arena DLC drops, I sincerely hope the physik flask will be disabled inside it, singleplayer, invasion, coop, hunter etc, you're progressing through the game (even though farmers gank are a thing but *cough*), alright let's say fair game, but when engaging in optional content, where there's nothing, like literally nothing comes from winning in arena, there is no reason to allow such retarded shit in it

For now, I agree that there won't be many people abusing this item because it's easy to miss and currently it's not on the radar for most PvP tryhards (Bleed builds, Moonveil and Hoarfrost to a lesser extent are).

But given enough time, this will become an issue for PvP for sure. Give the game 1 or 2 months, and this will start to creep up. Bleed builds and Moonveil are overpowered offensively, this item is overpowered defensively.

Also, this can also extend to any build, not just mages. Imagine a RoB user with the Bull-Goat set. Massive poise, massive damage... it's just completely unbalanced. And I know, technically you *can* still have that with endurance, but at the 120 meta they will have to sacrifice points in other stats to make up for the endurance gain (probably a damage stat).

Wel... Wearing the armor is a risk. I don't really se a problem with the buff allowing you to ignore weight for a few minutes. If you are, for example, fighting Malenia and you are not fast enough, the buff runs out and then your armor becomes a burden. You either strip you naked on a few seconds to continue fighting or you die.

In terms of PvP... Well, it may be an issue. You can have a caster with that build that spams spells and and moves like Lightning McQueen, but let's be realistic. People are not bothering with that with this new meta with RoB and naginatas.

I would say... let's wait and see what happens. Meta tryhards are not even this creative with their builds. The might never actualy realize they can do this.

@Combat Blues Like I said in a below reply, in invasions the effectiveness of this item is reduced because some invasions last longer than 3min. But the point is that in organized PvP this will become a problem.

Forcing your opponent to either fight a full poise mage with high defenses that doesn't heavy roll or wait 3min for the buff to disappear is just boring and ultimately unhealthy for the game.

I just don't think you can argue that a x4.5 boost for 3min is balanced in any way. If it provided a x1.2 or even x1.5 effect it would still help mid/late game builds since the more Endurance you have the more of a boost it would give you. But making it so that any build, regardless of investment in endurance, can wear a full set of Bull-Goat armor and still light/med roll is just absurd.
