This is a way that I got my PS4 controller working for me. Depending on what's causing your controller to not work with New N Tasty, this may not work. But I'm pretty sure it will.
BUT! If it dosent, please dont complain on here or say my "fix" dosent work or whatever. Because either A) You did something wrong or B) Your controller isnt setup or linked up with Steam itself.

Easy check if you controller is linked up to Steam : Does it work with other games? If "no" or "idk", then go up to "View" in the upper left hand corner, select "Big Picture Mode".

Once you see a full screen Steam menu, click the Gear Wheel up by the power button. Go to your controller settings and enable the controller you are using.

But Steam should automatically detect your controller so this is most likely useless. But I just wanna cover all aspects.

Select "Controller Configuration"


Now map whatever your gamer heart wants.
