Guide
The Engineer is a powerful character. He relies on bustling fungus his turrets in order to do damage, as his primary weapon is greatly lacking. His turrets gain all of his items (save a few), which is what makes him such a good character.

  • Using bustling fungus makes Engineer's turrets healing stations.
  • Using attack speed upgrades make turrets more powerful, and all attacks proc more often.
  • Using missiles with turrets is a great way to litter the sky in a blaze of glory.
  • Using on hit items (tri tip dagger, sticky bombs, lens maker glasses) is very effective as you have two turrets firing at all times.

Really, all you need is bustling fungus and whatever else you find along the way. Two bustling fungi should be enough to get past the third stage on monsoon without too much difficulty.

To add to this:

ICBM increases the amount of missiles your 'shift' button shoots by 2 (assuming you aren't using the shield), and additional stacks of ICBM increase the damage of all your missiles (both from your shift, AtG, and Disposable Missile Launcher) by 50%. You can pair this with Hardlight Afterburner to further lower its cooldown by 33% as well as having 2 extra charges of your shift ability.

This combo makes it where you can shred bosses and instantly delete stages worth of enemies when combined with gas tanks and other AoE items.

Oh and if you want another pro tip: certain defensive items you wouldn't expect also apply to your turrets. Oddly Shaped Opal reduces the initial damage the turrets take (making it effective for keeping em alive late game). Rejuvenation Rack increases the heal tick rate from your turrets Bustling Fungus', and even Dio's revives your turrets once per their life. Not everyone knows this so I just thought I should mention
