Pleasant Street has seen better days, and as the centuries move on, the railroads do, too. Gone are the great freight-hauling empires such as the PRR, NYC, C&O, and GTW. Gone are the days of ubiquitous passenger services. Now, all that remains are a few shortline railroads, one behemoth of the east, and a single small passenger train that runs only once a day to a forgotten station.

Dunno how realistic this is, but it's based on Grand Rapids, MI, and Pleasant St., which was a map based on my father's model railroad, which was, of course, based on Grand Rapids.

Good luck with the single passenger train. It's possible.

Random thing that amused me - When my father and I went out to visit family in the town this is based on, we took the train, of course. It arrived past midnight - the train always does, as CSX does this to allow the freight services to run in the far-more-convenient daylight hours - and it pulled into a brand-new station. At least, new compared to the old, dilapidated one we'd seen in the past.

With this new station came an actual waiting room, some vending machines, a nice, large shelter, great lighting, modern designs, and... signs. Tons of them on the station platform. All telling you where the track was.
Most importantly, they also identified that it was track "1". Even though it was the only track at the station.
These signs were every fifty feet or so, and the platform itself was... I wanna say 250 feet? Maybe only 200.

Regardless, that was a pretty funny oddity from my excursion in 2019. Is it relevant? Not at all. Did it make me laugh? Absolutely. Did I get pictures? Unfortunately, no, but I'm sure as hell going to next time we visit family.
