After naming your character in the beginning of the game you are asked 15 questions which define your base ego stats from here on out. Some answers don't do anything, most improve the related ego stat by 40 points. Here are the answers to the ego quiz in order to maximize you starting ego stats:

Question 1: Neither answer increases ego.

Question 2: "I don't need them." (+40 Sloth)

Question 3: "They don't deserve it!" (+40 Envy)

Question 4: "Warn them to be careful." (+40 Pride)

Question 5: "Back of the line, bub!" (+40 Wrath)

Question 6: "Go into debt, if that's what it takes." (+40 Greed)

Question 7: "I have." or "Never." (+40 Lust)

Question 8: "I try as many different foods as I can." (+40 Gluttony)

Question 9: "Get annoyed. They're just being obtuse." (+40 Sloth)

Question 10: "It's frustrating and unfair." (+40 Envy)

Question 11: "It's my way or the highway." (+40 Pride)

Question 12: "Yes" (+40 Lust)

Question 13: "Use it to further my personal growth." (+40 Gluttony)

Question 14: "Angrily deny it and denounce them." (+40 Wrath)

Question 15: Neither answer increases ego.

BONUS QUESTION - Depending on the answer you select in the bonus question will decide the final ego stat bonus and also the first starting friend in the game.
*At the moment I am unaware of the corresponding friends to each ego stat.
