Better Rifts, Better Attrition, No Souls Mod

This is very much Work In Progress, so things will get add, removed, changed, whatever.

The main objective, is to make the game more fun.

And most importantly, remove the soul race part of the campaign...

What it does
In a nutshell:

-- the army strength required for the ai to win a realm once it reaches the survival battle destination. if they do not meet this value, the army is destroyed, to simulate losing the survival battle
local strength_required_for_ai_to_complete_realm = 99999999;

I.e. AI can't gather souls.

Here the changes

Better Rifts

First Rifts after turn 15, rifts stay open for 3 turns and can't open for 20 turns after.

The amount of rifts opening each time has been significantly reduced.

Better Attrition

AI and Player have same attrition (100%)
How to Install/Uninstall
How to install:

Download from here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/14Z8QcKmo5s1Tif4VewFbK2BaQ21iGW0A/view?usp=sharing

Unzip the file you downloaded.

Drop either or both *.pack files into your Warhammer III/data folder

done.

How to uninstall:

delete the *.pack files you added

IF the mod doesn't work with the .pack method, you can use RPFM to open data.pack in /data folder in Warhammer 3 and add the folders in the script file.

You can backup the "script" and "db" folder from the data.pack file beforehand for easy restoration later.

quick questions -

2) any way to check if it works besides playing campaign and seeing if it souls are not taken?
thank you

The file and folder structures are intact inside the folders. The "db" folder is in the root of the "data.pack".

Hi. Which tables have you edited in the better_attrition. pack? couldn't get that one to work
Tαrtαrus 16 Mar, 2022 @ 9:46am
ive already done all of that, thats why i cant wrap my head around the crash at bootup, having the game files on read-only wouldnt effect anything would it? other than that i just cant find a reason as to why it doesnt ever work. ill try the suggestion hiro put up, but having "!" at the start of the name makes it as high a priority as it can get. baring in mind its only the script thats being the issue not the table file

The packs I added to the zip file are. I.e. changed type to movie.

did you try to rename the name of the pack (as a movie) as this aaa_xxx.pack ?
it works for my .pack like that

Adding the packs in data folder didn't work for me, either. But adding the 2 folders, "db" and "scripts" to data.pack with RPFM works without problems. Make sure you have ticked the box in RPFM to allow the editing of pack files. There shouldn't be any reason this causes or could cause a crash

was wondering if you could possibly point out what is wrong on my end. okay, so ive tried both methods. the attrition works fine if use the pack method. but touching any of the files within the main game directory causes the game to crash. simply saving it does so. but if i use the script in the pack method. it just doesnt do anything. even bumping it up the load order with a simple "!" at the start of its name, etc. any help would be appreciated in advance.
