Introduction

This guide has painstakingly documented most of the decisions you have to make in the game and their consequences. I say "most" because the game is massive, especially with the amount of characters who each have their own unique options here and there, and some may have been missed. As such, the guide also acts as a pseudo-achievement guide even though this isn't its primary function.

There will most likely be errors with some of the information or missing decisions and consequences altogether, as I didn't have the desire to double-check every decision with every character in the game, so if you find any errors or have new information to add then leave a comment with proof of your claim and I'll look into it.

This guide occasionally makes reference to creatures with letter designations (for example, Commoner A and Commoner B). These creature names don't exist in the game and are merely a naming convention that I used to differentiate between creatures of the same type but who have different stats. In these cases, please refer to the Bestiary guide that I made alongside this one in order to see the statistical differences.




How to Read the Guide

FORMATTING
  • The "Guide Index" on the right-hand side of the guide has a number of sections that are named with 10 dots (or periods). This indicates that these sections of the guide continue on from the previous named area. They also have 10 dots to extend to the length of their name to make it easier to click on them and jump to them.
  • Each major area in the game is bolded and underlined and are found in the Guide Index.
  • Individual rooms within each area, items, and ability bonuses or reductions are bolded.
  • "Test Your Skill/Luck" events and achievements are italicized.

GENERAL RULES
Unless otherwise stated...
  • Individual rooms are generally named after key descriptors found in their introductory (the first) paragraph.
  • Combat encounters award you with nothing.
  • Test Your Luck events always reduce your Luck by 1 after the roll has been resolved and you have either passed or failed the test.
  • You will not be able to choose the same option after having already chosen it.
  • You can't return to a room that you have already visited.
  • Some options will occasionally have slightly different text than what I've listed here. This is dependent on your character, the direction you're coming from, any previous options which might have impacted the event, or other factors. If the differences do not affect the game in a meaningful, or mechanical, way then they have been omitted for the sake of reducing clutter and minimizing confusion in the guide.
  • Since the guide is massive, use Ctrl +F to navigate to rooms quickly!

TEMPLATE RULES
  • You will often seen two or more sets of indented options with alternating numbers and letters that are nested within the original set. These indicate that the indented events follow the option that precedes it.
  • If an event of any kind is listed above the normal numbered options then it will either occur before you are offered the numbered options or replace them altogether.
  • If an event of any kind is listed below the normal numbered options then it will either be part of the list of numbered options or occur after you have chosen one (or more) of the numbered options.
  • Note: "events" include a Fight, Test Your Skill/Luck, character or Attribute-specific events (which are denoted by a ), or other miscellaneous occurrences.
  • At the bottom of a room, you will see a symbol. This indicates which room to navigate to next and will always be the default room that you are to proceed to; however, certain options can lead to other rooms or make you return to the preceding list.
  • For those options which don't specify where to proceed to, follow the list downwards within the same indentation level until you see a . If there isn't one within that indentation level then go to the previous indentation level and follow that list until you find one. Continue this pattern until you find one or arrive at the default exit at the bottom of a room.

OBSCURE GAMEPLAY TIPS
  • The compass (found in the top-right of the screen) will normally point north with a red needle. If you hover over an option that takes you in a direction, it will turn blue and point in that direction.
  • For consumable items, clicking on "Use" will consume them for a minor effect and discard them. Beware of this when you "Use" items that grant powerful passive effects to your stats such as the Gleaming Sword and Enchanted Sword as you will lose their permanent bonus. That being said, some situations might warrant their use.
  • Further to the above, the Bronze Helmet will actually reduce your Skill by another point so never "Use" this item.

Bench (Forced Rest) | Bench (Optional)
The default options for a "Bench" are listed below to make the guide simpler. Note that there are two types of benches:
  • "Forced Rest" benches which force you to choose option 1 or 2 before proceeding; and
  • "Optional" benches which allow you to either ignore the bench and proceed or choose option 1 and 2 alongside options from that room.
    1. Sit on the bench and rest. • +5 STAMINA! 2. Rest and consume some provisions. • Note: this option requires you to be below your maximum Stamina. • Requires and uses Provisions x1. • +10 STAMINA! 3. Don't use the bench and proceed. • Note: this option is not available in Bench (Forced Rest).

1. Leave by the flight of steps in the corner of the room. ► Proceed to High-Ranking Room (South). 2. Leave through the door you entered by. ► Proceed to Junction O7.


High-Ranking Room (South)
1. Attack them both! 2. Spring at the Chieftain and hope his servant will aid you. a. Escape quickly through the nearest door. ► Proceed to Junction O11. • Note: you will have a choice at Junction O9 but both choices lead to Junction O11. b. Continue the fight! ✿ Krea Datura: Hurl a Sleep Bomb at the Orcs! 3. Attempt to leave the chamber without engaging in combat. ✿ Fearsome Attribute: Threaten the pair of Orcs. ► Proceed to Master and Servant.


Training Hall
1. Creep to the iron gateway to the north. ► Proceed to Iron Gate. 2. Sneak to the doors at the east end of the chamber. ► Proceed to Stay in the Shadows. 3. Burst into the room and take on all of the Orcs with overwhelming odds! ► Return to this list but the text for this option has been changed to "Take on all the Orcs!" ► If you choose this option again, proceed to Bravery or Foolishness. 4. Go back the way you came and choose the other path. ► If you came from Junction O5, proceed to Junction O6. ► If you came from Junction O7, proceed to Junction O9.


Iron Gate
• Fight the QUINTAINS! (Quintain x2) ✿ Keen Eye Attribute: • +2 GOLD PIECES! 1. Leave the Orcs' Training Hall entirely. ► Proceed to Junction O9. 2. Try to reach the eastern end of the hall without being spotted. ► Proceed to Eastern End.


Stay in the Shadows

Bravery or Foolishness
• Fight the ORCS! (Orc A x2, Orc Ranger x2; Orc A x1 on the second and fifth turns; Orc Guard x1 on the eighth turn) • Fight the ORCS! (Orc Armourer x1, Goblin x2) 1. Investigate the iron gateway to the north. ► Proceed to Iron Gate. 2. Head to the eastern end of the hall. ► Proceed to Eastern End. 3. Leave the Orcs' Training Hall entirely. ► Proceed to Junction O9.


Eastern End
• Note: option 3 and 4 are only available if you came from Crude Forge or Cramped Armory. 1. Open the door with the battered shield. | Open the left-hand door with the shield. ► Proceed to Crude Forge. 2. Open the door with the helmet hanging from it. | Open the right-hand door with the helmet. ► Proceed to Cramped Armory. 3. Leave the Training Hall. ► If you came from Junction O5, proceed to Junction O6. ► If you came from Junction O7, proceed to Junction O9. 4. Investigate the gateway to the north. ► Proceed to Iron Gate. ✿ If you chose option 1 first in Training Hall then visited both Crude Forge and Cramped Armory (in any order) but did not acquire the Orc Disguise: a. Stand and fight! • Fight the ORCS! (Orc A x2, Orc Ranger x2; Orc A x1 on the second and fifth turns; Orc Guard x1 on the eighth turn) ✿ Ellion G'Aarak: • Fight the ORCS! Conclusion

Whenever I play games or books like this, I tend to take notes because I like to know the consequences of each decision (more for curiosity's sake than anything). After I had made quite a few notes, I decided to make a guide since none of the current ones cover the game in this much detail; however, it ended up being a colossal undertaking which I was not expecting. Nonetheless, seeing all of the unique decisions and consequences ended up being a fun experience. I currently don't have the DLC but do plan on making a similar guide for it whenever I get it but who knows when that will be since I've definitely had enough of this game for now.
