Puzzels with few pieces
When first beginning a puzzel with few pieces, you may try to Identify which color of paper (kami) has
  • the least number of discountinuous (scattered) pieces,
  • the most number of discountinuous pieces;
  • has the largest coverage (in terms of squares, of course);
  • is related to the most number of adjacent discountinuous pieces.

Remember to not just focus on colrs that appear to be in the forground and are forming positive shapes, but also colors that forms negative shapes and appears to be in the background (a lot of the time, the background color is green).

Connecting the colors
You can think of the aim of this game as "connecting" colors, so that they may become one.

- If the puzzel feels very difficult, an easy way to get into it is to simply focus on one color at a time. One thing that I'd like to do at the beginning of a level is to identify which color I would like to unify (or "eliminate") first, and then just focus on connecting them with as few steps as possible with no regard for other colors.
- Sometimes you can just go directly for the piece with the largest coverage.
- Sometimes you shouldn't go directly for the big pieces, but need to identify the obstructive pieces (pieces that are dividing up a what could've being a much bigger piece) or obstructive set of pieces and try flip those so that the adjacent ones can be connected into a singular big piece.

Enjoy the calmness
Some puzzels are complex and not all of us are Rain Man, so don't stress out when you're stuck. Experiment with different colors and let the solution come to you through discovery.
