I see where you are coming from, you want a mod which works even in online play and avoid clutter in addons list caused by excessive count of mods. I totally understand that. Thing is that Valve should've done that already since this is under their control actually, not under our control for the guns to play proper sounds. This mod also features a similar reload fix as seen in my Military Sniper Rifle Done Right mod. I'll just add that I tinkered with the events for the firing sounds but once I compiled it with swapped event sounds, the problem persisted and was even worse. For VScript mods, I think due to the nature of code it can be executed across all connected players so everyone can have the sound fix for the pistols implemented. Glad I could be of help for you.
I also asked this because some mods also have sound fixes (for example, military sniper rifle with it's clip load "crack" fix), so I wanted to see everything in one place instead of installing a million mods (for proper working you need a mod, then another one, another fix, etc.)
It's not a problem to install and use vscripts, but most pf players prefer official server than locals =/
Thanks for detailed answers anyway.
I'm not going to do* this.
Continuing my answer, if you are asking if is it possible to achieve the same results as seen in ChamoChimi's mod which uses VScript to fix firing sounds, then the answer is no. Why? To quote myself from the Bug Report Section discussion - it isn't possible because sounds are assigned wrong from the client-side level of the game, which is why this VScript patch even works - since it interacts with the client-side level of the game. Valve would need to issue a patch in order to fix the firing sounds problem for pistols. Mods that achieve similar results aren't going to fix the underlying issue. When I was making this mod initially however, I considered doing it but I had no power to do so as I had no proper knowledge prior how to re-animate thing properly. Now, I can't see the point of doing this. If Valve doesn't care, I don't think anyone should but good thing is that this VScript mod exists.
Just use VScript mod from ChamoChimi. Yes, many mods do flip gun models to force them to use proper sounds or just swap event sounds in animation sequences. However, I'm not going to so this, since this is not my fault and my mod will actually go well with ChamoChimi's mod. The main point of this mod wasn't to fix weapon sounds but rather fix the model and to choose appropriate sounds for weapon reload, see the description.
Sorry about necroing comment section, just saw your "done right" mods.
If it's possible, could you please add right/left gun sound fix?
ChamoChimi made one, but it's a vscript version, it only works on local servers. There must be non vscript versions, but they require another pistol models to use.
Here is his mod:

I am pretty sure there are mods that get you covered. However I have mainly focused here on fixing P220 so I don't really see a point in making a dual glock mod. You can also try to install the following mod alongside with a P220 replacement mod so you get fixed textures for your right sided glock too.

Sure I'll consider that, thanks for the idea. I just finished spray dusting my PC equipment and I need to do some PC maintenance.
do you think you could do something similar to the SMG? i downloaded a clean skin for it earlier and noticed the fire rate is set to semi-auto rather than full-auto by default
What do you mean by saying campaign specific ? --You mean like the model is only used for specific campaign set? Well, I need to think about it, especially when it's about republishing. For a quicker response and to remain notified about the deal, feel free to add me. I think I need you to explain this to me in detail how it works.
