All natural disasters, and how to defend against them
By XavierCat9000
Tornadoes, wildfires, volcanoes, meteor strikes... etc. This guide will help you be ready to defend against all of them, up to this insane situation: nuggola tesla quest, while hungry wolves attack people, while water supplies run out, ALL WHILE A VOLCANO ERUPTS.
Yeah. That just might be a important situation to know how to handle, right?

How natural disasters occur
Natural disasters will typically occur each year, once or more per said year, and more can occur due to summoning by rival civilizations or your poor decisionmaking when trading with strange alien black markets (why do they want you to endure an earthquake anyway?).
Volcano eruptions
We start with arguably the most difficult disaster to deal with- volcanic eruptions. The best move tends to be not to build your civilization near them if you aren't able to take the necessary sacrifices- think to yourself, is all that stone really worth it on that mountaintop? Is all those rich iron ore and oil deposits really worth the risk-

Yes, of course they are! Given enough time, your civilization would have expanded to the mountainside eventually anyway. So, let's learn how to defend against the inevitable threat you'll be facing.

When the volcano erupts, your first instinct may be to use rain to try and cool the lava and prevent an eruption. This, sadly, will not work. Lightning will also have no effect, although I'd imagine it'd only make things worse, if anything.

Thankfully, there is a way to prevent your buildings from being burned- the protective dome!

This'll do the trick for sure!

But, how can you know when to place it? As far as I can tell, you cannot- and you may simply have to keep placing new protective domes atop the volcano, ensuring you cover the entire opening, whenever one disappears, until the volcano calms down. Rest assured, the cost is steep, but you'll have saved your nuggets.
Tornadoes
Tornadoes are among the easiest disasters to defend, luckily. A Protective Dome can deflect them pretty easily, but there tends to be one major mistake people make when defending against these!

That is: placing the dome before the tornado spawns. Which, I know, seems counter-intuitive not to do- why wouldn't you want your defense up and ready when the threat spawns?

I'll show you why.
For the love of god. Please! Don't do this!

Do you see the problem? the tornado there, at this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of your nation, is localized entirely within your dome.
And the whole deflection part applies while inside a dome too, so the tornado won't just leave if it hits the wall of a dome- it'll be bounced off and gain speed. Sure- waiting a while to place your dome might let your village take a bit of a blow, but it's far better than the alternative.
Wildfires
Alright. First, let's identify a wildfire.

This is a wildfire. I hope that was obvious.

You have the raincloud ability for a few reasons. This is one of them, and said ability is decently cheap- making wildfires typically pose little threat.
Wild wolf attacks
Wild wolf attacks, while not all too dangerous, are one of the most irritating disasters you'll come across. If you have the ability, announce a lockdown and send your nuggets into their homes and/or bunkers.

Now, the biggest issue about the wolves will be finding all of them. I advise you to take time to pause the game and locate a small pack of wolves running in any given direction. Unpause for a bit to ensure they stick together and keep running. If they do, you've got the right wolves.

The next step is simple. Pick them up one by one with telekinesis and then drop them from a rather great height. The result should look something like this:

I have nothing funny to say here. What do you want me to say?
Meteor strikes
So, a meteor strike is coming. Don't panic! You've got this. As it turns out, in a game of rock paper scissors, magic god shield beats space rock. Set up a nice barrier, and you should be all set as the meteors crash into it, leaving everything else harmlessly unaffected!
Remember to thank them for showing you where they plan to land.
Locust swarms
A biblical storm of locusts is descending upon your town! But don't panic. Thing is, the locusts should spawn a decent bit away from your town, and begin approaching from there. Don't try to contain them using a barrier- it won't work, and you'll waste your power. Instead, zap them with lightning to take them out. But, you say- doesn't it seem counterintuitive to use a power that would only take out a fraction, when you could trap the entirety?

To which I say, it's not my game.

Power of Thor and all that. Hammertime!
The Red Barn
Do not attempt to strike it with lightning, or set it on fire. It is invincible. You will only harm yourself.
Despair. There is nothing you can do.
