Juicy Tips

Don't worry about saving up your consumables. Most items will respawn after a while, so you can always revisit an area and clean it out again. (This includes collecting nest Residue from previously burned out Freaker Nests.)

Some consumables cannot be picked up, until you have unlocked the recipe that requires it.

When searching gas stations, remember where the red gas cans are found. They will always respawn in the same spot.

Before you start up a generator at a NERO site, check around for red-wired speakers on buildings, and towers. Disable these before you fire up the genny, or else the noise will attract Freakers.

When exploring, if you hear spooky music start, you're probably getting close to a Horde. Be careful you don't stumble into them unprepared.

Skills that increase the range and duration of your Survival Vision, combined with the skill that outlines enemies, makes finding and stealth killing enemies much easier.

Different types of enemies will attack each other. Use Distractor devices to lure groups of Freakers into enemy camps, and do your dirty work for you.

The Skill that allows you to reload while sprinting is very helpful for fighting Hordes. Run and Gun strategies are pretty much the only way to not get overwhelmed.

Engine and Nitrous upgrades are needed in order to clear large jumps and reach some map locations.

Any bullet to the head for any enemy, no matter how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the gun is, is enough to take them down provided that they're not a big Freaker or a human wearing a helmet, regardless of difficulty. Actually hitting the head is another thing, but it's something to keep in mind.

If you've already fired a shot and/or killed someone at an ambush/marauder camp or a location with a bunch of humans with guns, keep in mind that any lures like the rock will cause them to take cover relative to where they heard the noise. You can use this to your advantage if done correctly.

Believe it or not, but an Attractor can peel away some Freakers from a Horde away from you even if they've already spotted you.

Beaning someone with a grenade or pipe bomb will make it more likely that it will do the job because if they spot it, they will try to move out of the way before it goes off. Freakers are generally too stupid to know what an explosive is before, during, and (if they survive) after it happens, so feel free to chuck it at their feet if you want.

If a fast enemy is trying to get you but you are on your bike, you can totally just ram into them with enough speed and you'll usually be fine.

The two skills that upgrade melee damage don't have a very strong effect, even when combined. You'll get them eventually, but there's no need to rush them.

Hide in a bush when throwing attractors.
I learned that the funny way.

I wanted to clear a camp hid behind a wall threw an attractor.
The horde spawned right behind me and charged through me to the attractor.

@stingo1 that's a good one, especially since the benefits up upgrading stamina aren't immediately obvious, but it turns out that zombies have a rather short memory and will actually literally forget about you if you manage to get far enough from them.

Also, something I've discovered by accident recently is that you can lead a horde into a marauder camp if there happens to be one near you, and they'll "magically" take care of it for you. Instead of attacking you, they'll focus on shooting zombies. Just make sure not to hang around them for too long because the horde will actually disappear (or run away?) faster than you'd think, and as soon as they're gone, the marauders will go back to attack you of course.

If you have at least 200 or more stamina, you can run away from a hoard to where they stop running after you as long as you don't weave around much. When the hoard stops chasing you and start going back, they loose their horde mentality until they get back so you can pick off the ones at the end and/or entice a small group of them off with a shot or two. You can get right behind them and they won't notice unless you disturb one and others are close by.

Yeah, possible easy makes it easier ;)
And focus is very good especially after update... I made all quests available in camps, except clearing all banditts posts and all hordes, so I had almost all perks unlocked by the end of a game and some were help...

No diss but I feel like playing on easy might explain most of this. Not exactly sure what the game does to make things easier, but I assume it either makes enemies less sturdy (requiring less shots to kill), or it makes ammo more plentiful, perhaps both.

Yes, I know that police cars contain ammo, and I loot literally ALL of them. Still I am frequently running low on ammo if I use my guns too much. But I'm playing on normal, and zombies are rather tough to kill, often requiring 3 or 4 shots unless you manage to hit 'em in the head.

Haven't tried to use the focused shot ability yet, but I just acquired it, so I'll see if that helps.

I had upgraded my bike to have 3rd grade sacks for ammo, so when dealing with Horde I had mobile resupply.
Also ALL closed Police cars have ammo, and often are also put during mission in surrounding. And I always resupply ammo in camps or when closer, in those resupply closets in Nero points or bunkers.
I upgraded this focus to have long slow motion, and most zombies I killed one head shot, or two shots.
I never used shotgun.
And I play on easy, to have experience I like.

@Engels78 good for you, did you find some magic infinite ammo glitch or something? Because constantly keep running out of it and have to fall back to melee weapons, and I'm not a terrible shot.

I've played whole game using melee like most 5% time... 95% I've used guns 😈
