New York Central Hudson 5405

Here is my best representation of the New York Central Hudson #5405 locomotive!

The Hudson locomotives were built way back in 1926 as an experimental 4-6-4 locomotive. A design very similar to the K-5 class was chosen, but with a higher psi boiler and a larger grate. The name "Hudson" was named after the Hudson River in NYC.

SPECIFICATIONS:
- Top Speed: ~80 MPH
- Water Capacity: ~55000 LITERS
- Coal Capacity: ~2050 COAL

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Ignite the firebox using the key switch
2. Set the damper lever to 1
3. Set boil rate to .15 (This is what you change in order to adjust how fast pressure is accumulating)
4. Watch the boiler temperature until it hits +100C
5. Watch the pressure gauge until pressure starts building
6. Adjust the boil rate lever so that you don't put too much pressure into the system. start slowing down the pressure accumulation at around 4 units of pressure until it hits 8 units. At 8 units, the system will automatically discharge steam to keep it below the explosion point, but keep an eye on the pressure just in case.
