The d3d8.dll and Steam.dll works for me until I try to play the first combat of the campaign. Crash and some times give me a error of memory. I can play skirmishes but not the campaign.

This worked for me! I found the original link using the Wayback Machine.

This works, I'm guessing it's replacing the d3d DLL from RCT3 which contains a fix that is common to old titles.

In your Start Menu search field, type in msconfig
Click on the boot tab
Click on the Advance Options button
Check the little box next to Maximum memory and set the max to 2048
Restart your computer
Start the game and Voila! It works! ^_^
