Ugh.
I'm not a fan of the alternate aerial moves. If I could aerial switch-swap, I'd be more inclined to give it a try... But the stabby move that replaces SJAS messes up my timing.
SJAS has an arc to it. You hit things in the arc, as gravity exists during your fall.
The stabby move has no arc to it, so it's a lot easier to get height from a vault and then miss the monster completely.
The benefit is that it's one strong move rather than insect-bite moves. The drawback is that you lack the same level of mobility.
There's more to it than that. Tobi-Kadachi is able to easily low-profile the stabby move, while Malzeno is big enough that this isn't a problem.
Which is why I'm putting off re-writing the guide. Even just adding it in would make up half the guide.
