Tips and Tricks for New Players
By Killer
This guide is for the new players who are struggling to enjoy the game because of the functions and abilities not mentioned in the tutorial. Hopefully after reading this you'll get new ideas on how to play with those villagers.

I don't see this game as a campaign to only summon the Ruinarch. It's more of a sandbox game to release your stress on those innocent villagers and knowing more tricks will actually help you be more creative thus increasing the replayability of this game.

Piercing and Resistance
The villagers, monsters, and demons have different amounts of resistance to any kinds of element and secondary element. They also have piercing of one element or secondary element type only. These resistance and piercing can vary because of their traits, talents, job or class, equipment, or food. You can view these resistance and piercing values and attack type at the topmost portion of their info tab. For afflictions and abilities, you can check their type by hovering your pointer over the spell to check the symbol in the info.

For Damage Type Calculation:
Resistance - Piercing = Damage Reduced
E.g. if a villager have high poison resistance, the Envy demon: Poison type will run away from the villager stating that the target is unkillable.

For Spell or Affliction Type Calculation:
Resistance - Piercing = % Chance to Resist Spell or Affliction
E.g. If a villager have high mental resistance, afflictions of mental type will be resisted. You will also receive a notification that the villager resisted your spell.

Villagers have many ways of increasing their piercing and resistance values so I won't dwell on that. For your minions and monsters, you can increase these values at the Primordial Pool structure by upgrading them in their respective monster type . Lastly, for your afflictions and abilities, you can increase their piercing values by upgrading them at the Spire structure.
Strength and Intelligence
Strength and Intelligence are only used for damage calculations. Strength is used in the calculation when the attacks are physical like swords and bows. While Intelligence is used when the attacks are magic like staffs. As for non-villagers, quick way to check if they are either physical or magic damage type is by comparing their STR and INT values in their info tab. Whichever is higher is the primary damage type.
Villager Migration
Villagers migrate to the map when the migration meter is full. You can monitor this meter in the info tab of a city center, which is the plot of land around a water well. Also, you can either speed up the meter instantly or reset the meter by right-clicking the city center and selecting Induce Migration or Stifle Migration, respectively. These options allow you to extend or quickly end your game. You can also raid the village by selecting the Raid option in the right-click menu if you have Marauder structure.
Message Board: Quests and Wanted list
Villages have message boards in their city centers just few tiles north of a water well. A message board contains a quest list and a wanted list and you can view them by selecting the message board and opening the Quest or Wanted tab at the bottom left of the screen. You can delete quests and wanted villagers at a cost of chaos orbs and doing so allows you to control their parties on which quest to take and which criminals to ignore. For wanted villagers inside the village, they will be arrested by the combatants in the village. And for wanted villagers outside the village, hunt quests will posted at the message board. Deleting hunt quests is useless because the villagers is still wanted and another quest will be posted again the following day so delete the villager in the wanted list instead.
Structure Shortcut Keys
Prison Snatch Party (Shortcut Key = Q)
Prison snatch party is used for snatching villagers, ratmen, and objects. (Note: by default, the drop location of the snatch party is the prison but you can change this by clicking the "x" button besides the drop location and select any structure, ruin, or cave in the target list.)

Kennel Snatch Party(Shortcut Key = E)
Same as above but for snatching wild monsters and objects only. You can also change the drop location of the party.

Marauder Raid Party(Shortcut Key = R)
For raiding villages.

"Help! My Demon got Recruited by a Faction"
If the demon belongs to the Prison Snatch Party, press Q and click "Undeploy" at the bottom of the pop-up window. Do the same action for other demon parties.
Meddler
A very useful structure in messing up the villagers. It's free for the Puppetmaster archetype at level 5 Portal. While for Lich and Ravager archetype, it costs chaos orb to get one charge using Release Powers at level 4 Portal. To use it, right-click on a villager and hover on Scheme.

Scheme options:
Break Up - Useful for making lovers brokenhearted, a significant negative mood modifier.
Instigate War - Used on faction leaders only. Declares war against a faction. High chance for the scheme to succeed if the faction have a warmonger ideology, which can be seen at the faction overview.
Join Faction - Used on vagrants only. It depends on the target faction's ideology if they allow the vagrant.
Leave Faction - Used on villagers and ratmen to make them leave the faction but they can still join back the faction. Expel ability is much better because they are banned from joining again.
Leave Home - Orders the villager to be homeless.
Leave Village - Orders the villager to leave the village but still in the faction. Useful if you want them to start a new village. But they can still join back in the village if there are no more suitable space to start a village or the maximum number of villages on the map is reached.
Rebellion - Used on settlement leaders only. Starts a new faction with new ideologies from the settlement leader. It can't be used on faction leaders.
Resign - Orders a faction or settlement leader to resign from their position. But if no one is more capable than them then they take back their position.
Overthrow Leader - Used on successors only. Every faction can have a maximum of three successors and you can see them by opening the villagers tab and selecting the faction then Overview tab. Overthrowing a leader causes a new set of ideologies to be followed and not everyone can follow it so they can choose to leave instead.
Rare Villager Structures
Skinner's lodge - If the village is near an animal cave i.g. mink, sheep, and moonwalker, they will build this lodge to gather raw materials from them. Also, a hunt quest will be available only for non-animal lover faction. Hunt quests target nearby wolf, boar, and bear caves and bring back their dead bodies to their city center and gather raw materials from them. This information is useful if you want your cult village to have access to durable leather armors.
Butcher Shop - Villagers will start to build one if there is a level 5 food talent villager in the village and they demand a new source of food to sustain the increasing number of villagers.
Barracks - Only one human village can build this structure and it is when a combatant reaches Level 3 or 4 Martial Arts talent. This structure is used by the physical damage type combatants to learn new skills, hidden to us, and level up their Martial Arts talent.
Magic Academy - Only one elven village can build this structure and it is when a combatant reaches Level 3 or 4 Combat Magic talent. This structure is used by the magic damage type combatants to learn new spells, hidden to us, and level up their Combat Magic talent.
Herbs at Tavern
The reason why there are herbs in the tavern is because the Merchant job can also make potions at the tavern.
Faction Overview and Ideology
Multiple factions can be seen at the Villagers tab. You can find the faction overview by selecting the Overview tab and see the faction's info.

Faction Leader
First is the faction leader, they are like the King of faction and so the punishable crimes are based on the King's traits. A faction leader is also a settlement leader and is handling one village. Faction leaders are hard to brainwash into Cultist.

Successors
Next is successors, heirs or heiress to the faction leader's position. Successors are easier to brainwash into cultist. And having a cultist as the new faction leader, it changes the ideologies, punishable crimes, and relationship of the faction towards the demons. Use Scheme: Overthrow Leader on a successor to order them to take over the position. Or you can kill the current faction leader.

Ideologies
Ideologies are based on the Faction Leader's traits. A faction can randomly be a male exclusive, female exclusive, race exclusive, or inclusive(anyone including ratmen can join) faction. Religion exclusive factions can be formed if the faction leader is a Cult Leader, Priest, and Great Witch.

A faction can also be a peaceful or warmonger faction. The faction leader must either have Evil, Treacherous, and Hotheaded traits to have that warmorger ideology. Except if the leader has Diplomatic trait then the faction will stay peaceful even with the mentioned traits. You can easily make a warmonger faction with Puppetmaster by afflicting the faction leader with Hotheaded trait. You can also make a warmonger faction with Lich and Ravager by torturing the faction leader in your prison until they have the Evil trait. But be sure to ready some Remove Flaw ability from the Portal to remove other flaws that may lead to the faction leader's death.

With warmonger ideology, the faction leader can declare war against another faction if faction leader hates the other faction leader. The faction will also randomly post quests to raid the villages of hostile factions. Also, when you share an intel about a murder of a warmonger faction's villager by a hostile faction to the warmonger leader, the leader will post a Raid quest to the message board instantly. So if both faction are warmonger faction and both leaders keeps receiving murder crime reports from their villagers after raids, then they will keep fighting until both warmonger leaders are dead or not enough combatants to take the raid quest. This is faction war at its finest.

Other traits that can reflect to the Ideologies or Punishable crimes are Lycanphiliac(Reveres Werewolves), Hemophiliac(Reveres Vampires), Lycanphobic(Werewolves are sentenced to death), Hemophobic(Vampires are sentenced to death), Cannibals(Legalize cannibalism) and etc.

Villages
A lot of players don't know this but if you scroll down on the Overview tab, you can see a list of villages and ruins occupied by the faction. Claimed Legendary Forge and Hallowed Ground will also show here.
Party Overview
Multiple parties do form in a village depending on the number of villagers. There's no easy way to look for them but you can find out if a combatant belongs to a party by checking the lower portion of their info tab. Click on the party name to switch to the party menu with their name and the leader of the party. Here you'll see the party info, members, and log tabs. Use this information to know what is the group doing away from the village.

Party members consider their relationships with other party members. A party leader can kick and ban someone out of the party if they dislike them. Also, if a member dislikes everyone in the party, they will leave instead.
Metal Miners
At level 4 resource talent, a human miner can start mining ore at a cave. Each cave on the map provides one type of metal. The ore might be Copper, Iron, Mithril, or Orichalcum, where Copper is the weakest and Orichalcum is the strongest. You can identify the type of metal that a cave provides even without a Mine structure by snatching the ore and dropping it to a cave with Mine structure and a miner with level 4 resource talent. You can also seize the object and drop it to the cave entrance so it will be prioritized by the miner but make sure that the miner does not have a suspicious trait. This information is useful if you want a strong army to battle against the villagers. And if your crafter is level 5 crafter talent, they can make equipment with status effect.
Archers Vs. Traps
Don't bother placing traps (e.g. snare trap, freezing trap, and landmine) near them, they can disarm it.
Stalkers Vs. Vampires, Werewolves, and Cultist
Stalkers have now been enhanced to be dangerous against Lycans, Vampires and Cultists. The following enhancements have been added:
- Stalkers cannot be turned into a Lycan, Vampire or Cultist
- Lycans, Vampires and Cultists cannot change class to Stalker
- At Martial Arts Lvl. 2, they will always deal critical damage to Lycans, Vampires and Cultists
- At Martial Arts Lvl. 3, they will be able to identify Lycans and Vampires on sight
- At Martial Arts Lvl. 4, they will be able to identify Cultists on sight
- At Martial Arts Lvl. 5, they may be able to purify Lycans, Vampires and Cultists from their Faction instead of attacking them

From Update 10 Changelog
Druids: Monster Tamers
Druids can tame wild monsters when they encounter one. Tamed wild monsters will have their name color change to yellow. Their max capacity to tame monsters depend on the combined levels of their Combat Magic and Healing Magic. They can even tame a dragon.
Shamans: Rituals and Guardians
Shamans can do rituals at a magic circle. They have 3 types of rituals depending on the level of their combat magic talent:
Level 1 - Boost relationships between rival villagers by adding 50 in their opinions to each other.
Level 3 - Summon four temporary Guardians for 24 in-game hours. This ritual is stackable. The type of Guardian depends on the religion of the faction. (Ent, Angels, or Imps)
Level 5 - Cast Day of the Gods. A buff for all the villagers that lives in the village.
Mages: Devastation Ritual
If there's a Mage tower on the map and a Mage with level 5 combat magic talent and is hostile against you, the Mage will use the Mage Tower to cast a Devastation Ritual. They will do the ritual if you keep snatching them or raiding their village.

My favorite moment was when a village leader died then replaced the ideology with exclusively male and all the woman became vagrants.
