This is on purpose for optimization. It's apparent when you're noclipping but it shouldn't be noticeable when you're playing normally.
You can disable it by putting this into the console (cheat protected): r_disable_distance_fade_on_big_props 1; r_disable_distance_fade_on_big_props_thresh 1
