Dragon age: Origins at 4K without breaking the UI (Nvidia only)
By Mitcher
Using Nvidia Profile Inspector you can make the game run at 4K without breaking the UI.
Unfortunately I do not have an AMD card to figure out how it works on AMD.

How the game looks at 4K.
There are mods that attempt to remedy this by enlarging the UI but still some elements are to small and the hotbar does not get fixed.

Downloading and Extracting Nvidia Profile Inspector
1. Click on assets and download "nvidiaProfileInspector.zip 143 KB"
https://www.github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases
2. Extract it using your flavor of archive manager (I use 7zip)
3. Launch
Using Nvidia Profile Inspector
1. Upon launching Nvidia PI you will be greeted with this screen.
2. Use Profiles selector in the top left corner to navigate to Dragon Age: Origins

3. Change Antialiasing compatibility setting to 0x004010C0

4. Navigate to 3 - Antialiasing and change Antialiasing - Behavior flags to "None" and Antialiasing - Mode "Override any application setting"

5. My Anti Aliasing settings.

6. You can also use other anti-aliasing settings such as these.

These work too but they make the game too blurry so you would need some sort of sharpening (Reshade or Nvidia) to make it look good.

Known Problems
1. Opening Load Game Screen from Main menu causes it to flicker (which I can't for whatever reason capture it to showcase.) You can simply load the game from resume and load the save from there (might be a me only problem).
2. Some things like Nvidia fps counter or msi afterburner can be larger than it should.
You can set in-game antialiasing to 8x to counter it.
3. (Very minor) It breaks the Vignette effect and dialogue. Most (and barely) noticeable in the left upper corner when in dialogue or just walking around.

Thank you so much, I was struggling for hours to make antialiasing works through nvidia profile inspector and this compatibility fix made it work!!!!!!!

@SaneOne There is a new mod that rescales the HUD for 4K res, there is also a mostly working 2K version (HUD tooltips and menu sliders are yet misaligned but functional). It does not rescale font sizes but that can be done with FtG UI mod, they work together just fine and complement each other: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/6332

Hey I realise this is a little old but could you help me with an issue. When I implement this I cannot see the dlc's, they are minimised in downloads and the other campaigns don't show up. I'm not great with tech so help would be appreciated.

Followed all the instructions. Overall visuals have been improved greatly, but hotbar and portraits are not affected at all and very small in 4k Resolution... How can i fix that?

I was looking for the 0x004010C0 and I was about to give it up when I found your comment. It isn't mentioned anywhere. Thank you.

Worked like a charm! Thank you so much dude. Quick question: Do I have to keep Nvidia Inspector open when I play the game?
Mitcher  [author] 7 Apr, 2022 @ 12:47pm
You have to put "0x004010C0" in yourself.
Matics 7 Apr, 2022 @ 12:05pm
Sadly, the 0x004010C0 option is not there for some reason.

Lovely Thanx for the share. Will give this a try on the 60 inch when I reach it on the backlog list.

You don't need a 4k monitor. DSR rurins the UI quite badly. I could try to help but it is hard to pinpoint a problem without seeing the nvidia pi settings.
