To start off first you will need to make sure the charecter you're running around as is either Luneth or Arc



Then you will need to of received the letter from Topapa marked "The Children are in Trouble!" (Please note you must of at least passed the fire Crystal before you can complete this even if you recieve this letter from Topapa) (Thanks to Grizzlei[/b] for pointing this out.)

After you've received this letter you will then have to go back to the Town of Ur and go and speak to Topapa, he will then inform you about the Children missing and then mention they're in the Altar Cave.

Now your next stop is the Altar Cave. Proceed towards where you first encounter the first Cyrstal. During your journey towards there you will come to a stop and a cutscene will start, you will now see 3 children from Ur stuck behind three bombs and a battle will initiate.

After the battle has ended with these bombs the children will thank you and pass you a Cyrstal Fragment. You will now of unlocked the hidden class Onion Knight

I've read that and changed the rotation a few times but i've only gotten a few letters from Alus and Sara

I've not gotten any letters off Cid and i just got the Fang of Earth

Must receive the 4th letter off Cid and read it. THEN..
1. Talk to Topapa in Ur.
2. Go to Altar Cave.
3. Defeat the 3x Bombs on B2F.

So, until you've got cid's 4th letter and read it you wont get 'The Lost Children' letter. Try to re-read all your letters, could be there's one you havent read.

The letters are random delivered,
I've seen people not getting the letter until near end game too.
You just need to keep checking mail in each town, stay at inn's over night check and so on.

No idea if i've done something wrong or not but i've gotten 29% in the Bestiary after getting the water crystal and doing the next dungeon after that but despite having the requirements fulfilled there's no letters from Topapa aside from the "How are you?" and "Ur" letters

after getting the toad spell i recieved the first letter concerning the children. after meeting the dwarves and gaining entrance to the fire temple itself i recieved the mail that began the quest. had to have Luneth as leader to get both messages. finished quest and picked up the class and am about to enter the fire temple now.

I beat Salamadar on my first play through which got deleted when I blew out my hard drive once with 2 onion knights whm and blm and also with all fighter and OK as well

Obtained the Onion Knight job and I haven't gotten to the Fire Crystal, yet. I've been following the beastiary and treasure hunting guides to get everything.

Just sone information on this Onion Knight class for those who don't know. Your probably wondering why you would want to use this job, well.. here is the reasons why..

1. It can equip 98% of everything in the game. Not Shuriken or weapons/equipment from mognet events.
2. It can use level 1 - 8 magic skills.
3. The 'GUARD' skill halves all physical damage.
4. It's only worth using when its job level is lvl 97.. all stats are 75 at that point, at job lvl 98 all stats are 87, at job lvl 99 all stats are 99.
5. You will need all jobs at lvl 99 for the achievement.
6. Serious damage from this class starts at level 95.
