Hardened Carapace is a Crafting Material in Remnant: From the Ashes. Dropped by defeated Black Vikorian Beetles that spawn with the random event Sketterling Temple in Corsus dungeons. Hardened Carapace is used to craft/purchase the Carapace Set from Mar'Gosh when speaking to him with the Parasite status ailment.

• Go to C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Remnant\Saved\SaveGames
  
• Backup your save_0.bak and save_0.sav files.

Now your World progress is safe, so nothing to worry about.

• Extract files from rar archive to
  C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Remnant\Saved\SaveGames
  
• In the game go to last checkpoint and run to your first Black Vikorian Beetle

  

• After killing him just exit to main menu.
  
• Alt+Tab and extract files from rar archive again.
  
• Go to last checkpoint and kill another Black Vikorian Beetle.
  
• Repeat whole process one more time.

• You should have x3 Hardened Carapace after fast farm.
  
• Find Iskal Infector in the same dungeon, let him grab you and fail QTE.

  

• Now you have Parasite Status Ailment

  

  Health will be halved, so be careful, but do not rest at the checkpoint.
  
• Go through the dungeon to the next one.
  
• Talk to Mar'Gosh. He has a vendor option where you can craft/buy the Carapace Set using Hardened Carapace and scrap.

  

• Return your backup save_0.bak and save_0.sav files to
  C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Remnant\Saved\SaveGames
