This will be for a graphics card with 3 gigs of ram in my case a NVIDIA 1060.
How to get the frame rates stellar, graphics to wonderful and fix any controller issues.

My base specs

For the purposes of this article I will be using a NVIDIA GTX 1060 with a F-Sync Patched Kernel (liquorix) and 16 gigs of ram.

My os of choice is KDE neon 5.23
Although I believe the steps listed below with higher or lower specs yield similar satisfactory results.

Patching your kernel is optional but may yield better frame rates.
Either way expect a good result.

Proton is

Proton Experimental

Quick aside about the kernel though

You don't need to build it yourself. There's a PPA and you can install it super easy.

Took 5 minutes and all your games will benefit from that F-Sync goodness.
Mmmmm hum.. All that f-sync just like mamma used to make. It's the most F ever.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:damentz/liquorix && sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install linux-image-liquorix-amd64 linux-headers-liquorix-amd64

Then reboot.

Next we will tackle the crazy camera on the right analog stick:

First navigate to the mouse settings page. Yes, I know mouse settings.. It's crazy.. Where fixing the right analog.. I get it.

Much of this guide won't make any since.
Just bear with me.

Set the mouse sensitivity down.. I found .3 works pretty good.

Aim Assist

For the purpose of this game I suggest you turn aim assist off.
It's just a mess.

I mean... Unless you like emptying a clip at point blank range, and somehow missing every shot with a submachine gun.

Yes that craziness happened.

Under Controls

Improving the graphics performance

For some reason unlocking the frame rate makes the game 100x more responsive.
I did say this wouldn't make any since right? Welcome to the wild fontier of DEVops.

Start with the high preset under graphics:

Set the FPS To unlimited:

The rest I set as follows:

Motion Blur OFF
Anisotropic Filtering to x2
VSync Off
Rest can be high

Let's bump the resolution back to native for you monitor
In my case 1080x1920

And make sure native fullscreen is on
