Description

River Avon Shipyards, a subsidiary of Knightmare Defense Industries, presents the Tarian Class Frigate. A modified version of the MCRN Arsia II, the Tarian is designed as an escort to provide support for larger ships. The ship carries a variety of weaponry, but with a focus on Guardian PDC's to protect other ships. A version was trialed using flak turrets but has yet to be put into production. "Tarian" is a Welsh word meaning shield.

The Tarian uses Epstein Drives and RCS thrusters from Aryx-Lynxon, producing 157 MN of force. The ship's Jump Drives have a maximum range of 3,129 Km. The ship is armed with 4 Flechette Missile Launchers, 4 Astraeus Torpedo Launchers, 2 Poseidon Salvo Launchers, 2 Whirlwind Heavy Cannons, 2 Cyclone Heavy Cannons, 4 Athena Railgun Turrets, 12 Guardian PDC's, and 3 Interior Turrets. Two doppler radar units have been equipped as well for long range ship detection.

Power is provided by 1 Large Reactor, and 4 Small Reactors with a battery backup system. The hull is mostly light armor, but reinforced around critical components and at the front. The ship has a medical room, survival kit and basic production facilities. Parachutes are attached for planetary operations, but no landing gear are equipped on the base model.

I use a light changing script to switch around the interior light settings. Its an older script and I couldn't find the original creator. The script was updated by ColTeH for my use. I used some of Whiplash141's scripts on the ship, including their braking script for "flip and burn" situations, and a few of their mods for taking the screenshots. The mods I used to assist with the screenshots came recommended by Taidyr, who makes some fantastic content as well. Thanks to Keq, another excellent builder who helped me improve my interiors. I used Darth Biomech's Milky Way Skybox mod for screenshots. Links below. I got inspiration for this ship from ships shown in The Expanse RPG book, I highly recommend The Expanse's books and show.

If you want a quick color conversion, say to UNN or MCRN colors, then I recommend this block recoloring mod, which will greatly simplify the process. Color Replacer Blocks - V2

Please feel free to modify the ship to fit your in game needs. Just be sure to give credit to the original creator.

Author's Notes
This design really gets around, does't it? The Tarian is a modified version of the Arsia II, which is an updated Wendigo design. Honestly I struggled to name this because I wasn't sure if it should be Wendigo III, or the RAS Arsia II, or what. Eventually I went with Tarian, to keep things less confusing, hopefully. The interior, thrusters, and weapons were all updated. Actually that happened a few times, as I built this then kept adjusting the RAS design language. One of the big updates was the interior, which is finally good enough that I don't feel like I need to hide it in blue light, lol. Glad to finally put this out as well, I've been so busy building that uploading to the workshop became a secondary objective, weirdly. Usually I just upload as soon as I finish up. Anyways, I hope you like this, and there are more coming. Enjoy!

If you have any questions, comments or feedback about the ship, please leave them in the comments below. I'm always looking to improve upon my work. If you enjoy the Tarian Class Frigate, likes are greatly appreciated. Thank you for browsing this item. Safe Voyages! Papple.
