A common illness that a rimworld player acquires is a lack of a will to live. This guide will tell you how to play rimworld and not get depressed!

Step 1
Find a modpack that suits your taste or just plainly looks fun.
Step 2
launch the game and wait 2 years for the game too load all 200 mods with your old crusty hard drive.

Step 3 ( optional)
Contemplate your life and the poor choices you have made whilst the game is loading.
Step 4
Game loads up.
You feel like you have been sitting in your chair for an eternity
You stare at the main menu and immediately lose all interest in the game and an overwhelming sense of dread.
Your mouse moves over to the exit button and in the blink of an eye the game closes leaving you to wonder what you could've done with all that wasted time waiting for the game to run.
Step 5
Look outside the window in search of meaning
Step 6 realisation
Figure out you have been playing rimworld for 200 years.And all your family , friends and the world as you knew it is gone.
Step 7
walk the ruined wastes in search of new meaning

See something in a ruined electronics store





It is a bloody fresh new SSD.
Rush home to install it on your computer.
Boot up Rimworld again.
It loads in 50 years and not 200.You Regain the passion for playing it.

In order for me to play the game I must be willing to commit a day to just getting all of my mods to work without error. I then quit until the next day feeling refreshed and then start a play through.

Step 1 - Play rimworld
Step 2 - Deal with colonists bs. or have irl occupation were you deal with people Bs.
Step 3 - Start to optmise functions trough in-game strategy and mods too mod
Step 4 - You now see people, or at least RW people as mere cogs in the machine.
Step 5 - You optmize so hard your floor is now made of bones and your furniture of skin

The problem with this guide is that a Rimworld player is never going to go outside or even touch grass

@Latex Santa Limit yourself to a couple mods that fit the type of game that you want to play. If your ideology will never interact with something, don't mod it. If you're never going to settle in that biome, don't mod it. Vanilla also isn't that bad, I play it a couple times whenever a new DLC comes out, and in many ways it's kind of liberating to not have all the bloat added by mods.

I felt that. This is what happens when I burn out on RimWorld being too goddamn laggy always and forever. I refuse to touch vanilla though.
