The game currently has a bug which prevents you from creating a custom faction with the Tyr trait.

If you want to create one, first you need to create the faction itself, then exit the game and locate its text file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pax Nova\Content\CustomFactions, open it with a notepad and change <TraitID>0</TraitID>(Human trait) to <TraitID>72</TraitID> right under the <Traits> section.


Be aware that any edit to your faction will reset its race trait back to Human and you will need to change it manually again.
