GAR Guide - Best start and advanced playing
Av CaptainPOCK
Hey guys.

Well, i think you already played the game, and i think you had fun. but doing missions, leveling up and get the right weapons takes a bit time, and can take some death, if you never played a game like this before, so i want to give you a nice start into this game, and i hope you have fun reading it.

The right Start

First of all, its the best decision to start with singleplayer. Singleplayer is easier than multiplayer if you dont have friends to play with you. Learn something about the game physics and the basic controls, the start is always a bit difficult. If you are completely new to such a game, i recommend to use the QWE keys for easy movement, use ASD keys for advanced movement, more tricky but also more possibilities. Search your first enemy and destroy a bunch of them, learn about their behavior.

Pirates: Pirates usually attack in a group. Smaller pirate ships circle you, bigger ships are lazy to move and will stay around you like a wall, so they defend the smaller ships, while they can take more damage. Pirates are known for their unique weapons.
Aliens: Similar to pirates, except for the less amount of unique weapons (not confirmed yet!)

Destroy every close enemy first, easier to hit and increases the chance to avoid some shots. Random moving also improves the avoidance. Circling them too is the easiest way. Disrupt your enemies projectiles by shoting at them, decreasing incoming damage. However, its the best to stay away from elite enemies first until you improved in defensive, they randomly appear and can also drop items. Isotopes are the most common, but i recommend to test isotopes first before you salvage the old one. many isotopes are worthless. But here is a list of Isotopes i recommend all newbies:

Tripple "V"-Pattern isotope: 3 projectiles fire in a "V" pattern, allowing them to hit more enemies at the same time. still a great and defensive weapon.

Wallmaker isotope: Wallmaker isotopes are projectiles which stop after a random distance and create a wall of projectiles, able to block enemy projectiles or dealing damage if enemies rush into them. Recommend for defensive players.

One big projectile: 3 Projectiles in one single. This one is not much more different to the starter gun, but still good to kill space blobs or xindo elite.

Crazy moving projectiles: Random pattern projectiles which fly around like crazy. Defensive + offensive gun, recommend for close combat.

There are also such called "rarity" levels, common, uncommon, rare, epic and artifact. These determine extra damage and side effects like snare (slowing down), Acid DoT (Leaving armor-damaging damage over time), Splash (A projectile with an added explosion, 33% damage and 33% explosion size of a warhead). Artifacts are the best!

but what mods?

The most players upgrade the Hull capacity first. Its not wrong, but still useless in the lower levels. Regeneration helps more to survive, damage is also very important! "Offense is the best defense." ~ IDK who said that.

-> The more shield recharge you have, the more you can heal per second and survive longer. Whats better? Having 30.000 shield with 500 regen, or 15.000 shield with 1.200 regen? per second you can regenerate 1.200 shield, as example. more useful in heavy combats

of course, other mods are good too, but if you heal up faster than someone can damage you, it seems like you are invincibile... but you can only get a maximum shield regen of 1200, maximum Armor regen of 600 and maximum health regen of 150 (rounded numbers, the highest i got till yet). Together you can have 1950 Regeneratio TOTAL. Much enemys will have problems to kill you.

But what about gain Credits?

Farming credits is one of the most important things in the game. Without credits you cant get better ships and you will left behind. Its useless to unlock higher systems if you have lack of equipment. Buy ships, gain better mods and kill higher level enemies, giving you many credits. Complete missions to gain many credits and XP.

[Advanced tips will comming soon]

This are the most important tips, and i hope it helps you ;)

Greetings ~
