A Beginner's Guide to the Campaign

I recently decided to give this game another chance, and holy cow do I enjoy this game. It's refreshingly difficult in a sort of classic no-hand-holding sense, and punishes lack of attention and bad choices with thoroughly infuriating defeats...even on easy if you're not paying attention.
My aim here is to iterate my way to a series of workable guide-post notes and decisions that other new players can use to improve their overall campaign play. I do not expect to produce a comprehensive guide for the 100%er, but if I can help 1% of the player base do 1% better, I'll call it mission accomplished.

Not an expert at all, but I'm enjoying my time and I'm happy to help others enjoy their time as well.

RoadMap plan
v0.2 - win conditions and notes on ore locations
v0.3 - troop and building stat tables so I can make smarter decisions on the tech tree
v0.4 - basic strategies for maps on v0.1

v0.6 - treatment on hero selection and strategy

Change History and Versions
v0.1 - 26 Dec 2021 - RTS Mission Titles and map images. This is a simple way to get a quick map reference for use in planning next map to take, and in which directions expansion will be easiest in early game. I found myself wanting this early, so it was the first obvious thing to put together.

I definitely like shock early too. Wish I had more time to play lately, too much work and other nerd stuff in my life but I started this with big ambitions...then stupid wrist pain started up.

I pulled these maps from some media material I think. Came from the game creator somehow but I don't precisely recall. I don't think there is any difficulty based differences to the maps though.

@T.Phong: I don't remember Raven being particurlarly hard. But I like grab the Shock Tower tech early, so that might be one of the reasons. Here's what I had entering into Raven https://i.imgur.com/0GxQmtQ.jpg

Lowlands (Difficulty 2) does not require clearing all the infected, just reaching 1200 pop.

Also thanks for doing this. I'm doing a 800% playthrough and seeing the map revealed beforehand is very helpful for base planning. On which difficulty are these screenshots taken?

the tech tree really is something, Raven without ballista is hard and almost noway to win (playing on hard 200%)

i lost 4 times on the mines of the raven...i wanna cry
