Jedi Academy Multiplayer Guide

What's that? Can't play JA multiplayer on Steam? REALLY? Then you're in the right place! This guide will help you on how to play JA multiplayer. NOTE: You don't need to update the game to 1.01 since it's already updated on the Steam version.
EDIT: Just realized that this works with the GOG version too. :D

Step 1: Resources

In order to play this game on multiplayer, you might want to download the mod JA+ and Power Battles, which basically add more skins, models, lightsaber hilts etc. Movie Battles 2 is a multiplayer mod which is kinda like TF2, but set in the Star Wars movies.

Step 2: Installing the Mods

To install JA+, you need to extract the japlus and the japlus_tools folder into the GameData folder (Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Jedi Academy/GameData) shown above.

But the japlus_gla_anims.pk3 file must be extracted on GameData/base folder.

To install Power Battles, just take the pk3 file and extract it in the GameData/base folder.

Step 3: Joining a server

To join a server, open JAMP.

Then, go to Setup and then to Mods. You'll see JA+ 2.3 (or MovieBattles II, depends on what you have installed.)

Then wait, and you should be in a different menu.

Go to play, join a server, and BAM.

For Steam, go to your game Library. Right Click on the game for more options and click on Multiplayer.

ok so i went into the game folder on my box and found the MP application (right click) and launched the game from there as admin and it worked as long as i had disk 1 in the drive

When I load JAMP it does this:
--- ambient sound initialization ---
Sound memory manager started
Loading dll file ui.
Failed to load dll, looking for qvm.
Loading vm file vm/ui.qvm.
Failed.
Shutting down OpenGL subsystem
VM_Create on UI failed
