Introduction
Welcome to the guide for completing all bronze challenges in Desktop Dungeons!

The main purpose of the bronze challenges is to acquaint you with the particular playstyle and strengths of each class, rather than push your skills to the limit. If you're stuck during standard dungeon runs with a certain class, be sure to try out their bronze challenge to hopefully get a few tips that could help with your dungeoneering.

Each challenge dungeon is randomized in terms of layout and enemy/item placement, but several things are constant. You will always encounter the same boss, the same fixed enemy types (usually) and sometimes even the same spell glyphs.

Each bronze challenge becomes available as soon as you unlock the corresponding class. The three "secret" classes - Transmuter, Tinker and Crusader - all have unique unlock requirements:

- The Tinker is found in the first hidden subdungeon after you've constructed the Alchemist building. You only need to find the subdungeon in order to unlock the class.
- The Transmuter is found in a random subdungeon in the west. You only need to find the subdungeon in order to unlock the class.
- The Crusader is found in a random subdungeon after you've unlocked all nine gods. You need to gather 100 piety and talk to him in order to unlock the class.

Completing the challenges earns you no extra gold for bonus rewards such as badges. You only get the 150/250/350 gold reward from beating the challenge for the first time. In other words, you don't really have a reason to go out of your way to earn any badges, as they provide no real benefit.

There is no real disadvantage to doing the bronze challenges early, because you are not allowed to bring preparations for any of them. Even if you have unlocked and upgraded every single building in your kingdom, you can't use any of them to help with the challenges.

Your options here are much more open than the silver or gold challenges. I'm sure there are still optimal solutions for every challenge, but in most cases there are many strategies that can work equally well. These solutions are written with the average player in mind.

I thought about also listing the suggested races for each solution (like I did with the silver and gold challenges), but it makes little difference for bronze challenges. In some cases, there aren't even enough glyphs to convert for a single racial bonus. As a rule of thumb, Humans and Orcs are always a solid choice, with the Elf and Gnome being the preferred races for mana-intensive classes. Honestly, for bronze challenges, pick whichever race you like playing best.

Instead of suggested races, I've added the trait descriptions for each class, because nearly all of the challenges heavily rely on the use of one or more of those traits, so it might be useful to have those descriptions in front of you.

For the purposes of this guide, I'm going to assume that you know basic strategy and common game terms like popcorn, blackspace, regen-fighting and level catapult. If not, feel free to refer to my achievement guide for more explanation.

Last thing to note: I never used any item shops for these challenges, so any items you buy will make everything easier. I also never used any potions (unless explicitly stated in the guide), so those are also a nice safety cushion. Following this guide should still enable you to beat these challenges without any extra items or potions, but you always have the option to use them.
Guild
"Bleat it!" (Fighter)

INSTINCTS: Monsters of an equal or lower level always have their locations revealed
VETERAN: 1 extra experience per monster kill, faster leveling
PIT DOG: Starts with a layer of Death Protection

Boss: Medusa (LV8 Gorgon, 57 damage, 146 HP, first strike, 100% death gaze, mana burn)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271370466
You start the challenge with the WONAFYT and IMAWAL glyphs in your inventory. The level has a huge (and I mean HUGE) number of LV1 Goats. This is basically a tutorial to the basic popcorn bowl strategy that every player should know how to execute. Fighters already benefit the most from popcorn, because their Veteran trait helps them rack up experience very quickly.

Start exploring and casting WONAFYT every time you have the mana for it. Note that summoned monsters always spawn next to your character, so try to create a diagonal "grid" of slowed enemies, so you won't block yourself off. Once you've summoned all the Goats (no more red enemy markers left on the screen), kill two LV1 enemies to level up once, then grab the two LV2 Gorgons with WONAFYT and kill them to level up again.

Repeat the process with progressively stronger Gorgons (there are exactly two Gorgons of each level on the map). When you're fighting an equal-level Gorgon and are one hit short of safely killing it, simply recast WONAFYT. Since the Gorgon will be the only possible target (WONAFYT won't grab enemies of higher level), it will be slowed, negating the first strike and allowing for an easy kill without enemy retaliation while granting the +1 XP bonus from the slowed status effect.

The other important strategy here is using IMAWAL to petrify low-level enemies and boost your XP gain for higher level enemies. You still get the +1 XP bonus if you petrify a slowed enemy, so petrify a Goat before each Gorgon kill for extra XP. Once you reach LV7, you can use a simple level catapult to kill the boss: hit her once, kill popcorn to level up, hit her again, and finally hit her while triggering your Death Protection and killing her. Probably the easiest bronze challenge.

"RAWR!" (Berserker)

BLOODLUST: +20% damage against higher-level foes
SPELLKILL: +50% starting magic resistance
MAGESLAY: All glyph-activated abilities cost an extra 2 mana, +20% starting damage bonus

Boss: Punycrush McSissywiz (LV10 Warlock, 100 damage, 286 HP, magical attack)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271371695
Considering the class in question, it's perhaps fitting that this is by far the most straightforward of all the bronze challenges and there is no real trick to beating it other than killing monsters, yo.

There are no glyphs here, so the Berserker's only real drawback is completely negated. However, numerous tight spaces mean that unfavorable monster placement can make this challenge a bit harder than it actually is. Avoid fighting Zombies when possible, as their damage-to-health ratio makes them one of the toughest enemy types to kill in a straight-up fight. Also take care with the Trolls and their fast regen.

Thanks to your innate traits of +50% magic resistance and +20% damage to higher level foes, you will ideally want to find higher-level magic-using enemies (Warlocks) to level up. Keep killing enemies at least one level above you. In case of Warlocks, you should be able to easily kill them two levels above you. Once you reach LV6, use a level catapult and spam health potions to kill the boss. The boss is seriously disadvantaged against the Berserker, so finishing him off shouldn't be a problem.

"Terror Begins" (Warlord)

DEFIANT: Starts with the CYDSTEPP glyph, always castable
DETERMINED: +30% bonus damage whenever below half health
COURAGEOUS: Drinking a mana potion will cause the next attack to do +30% damage

Boss: Bleaty (LV10 Goat, 201 damage, 143 HP)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271371832
Normally, a Warlord can easily kill enemies two levels above him by entering combat, triggering his Death Protection, recasting CYDSTEPP and landing the killing blow. This strategy doesn't really work in this challenge, because as soon as you level up, all enemies (including the boss) also gain a layer of Death Protection. This layer is renewed every time you level up, although no more than one layer can be active at a time.

To balance this Death Protection buff, all enemies (including the boss) only have 50% of their normal health. Also note that all Gorgons have a 100% death gaze instead of the normal 50%, meaning instant death if you're at less than full health. Even if you are higher level than the enemy, first strike will always hit first and Gorgons will kill you before you can do anything about it. Avoid them if at all possible.

Cast CYDSTEPP as soon as you start the challenge. Start by killing a LV3 enemy and leveling up. Because the bonus from your Determined trait will kick in before you land the hit, you basically always have +30% damage when attacking higher-level enemies. Kill a LV4 enemy and level up again. Now you can start killing enemies two-three levels above you: hit enemy once; hit enemy again, triggering both your and the enemy's Death Protection; recast CYDSTEPP; finish off the enemy.

Fight the boss once you reach LV7. There are no glyphs on the level, but tons of mana potions, so it's easy to save all of them for the boss fight.

1. hit the boss and trigger your Death Protection
2. recast CYDSTEPP and attack again
3. drink two potions and recast CYDSTEPP
4. attack and trigger enemy Death Protection
5. drink two more potions, recast CYDSTEPP and attack for the win
Mage Tower
"Magic, Woo!" (Wizard)

MAGIC SENSE: Can see glyph locations, all glyphs are small items
MAGIC AFFINITY: Glyphs cost -1 mana and donate 10 conversion points to other conversions
MAGIC ATTUNEMENT: Starts with the BURNDAYRAZ glyph, double burn stacks

Boss: Rath (LV8 Bandit, 46 damage, 123 HP, 75% physical resist, berserks at 50% HP)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271372028
The bottom half of this dungeon is completely cut off by a wall and some water. Your goal is to break through to the lower half and kill the boss there. The WEYTWUT glyph always spawns on the northern half, so use it on low-level enemies to make yourself a popcorn bowl. You need to find one of the following glyphs: LEMMISI, ENDISWAL, PISORF. The glyphs are placed randomly, so you may find every single one of these within your reach, or you may find none of the three. If you don't find any of these, simply restart the challenge.

Spamming LEMMISI will eventually reveal a monster on the other side of the wall, allowing you to jump behind the wall with WEYTWUT. Using ENDISWAL allows you to break through the wall near the left side of the dungeon (the "structural weakness"). Casting PISORF can push one of the LV10 Bandit guards through the wall, allowing you to bypass him and reach the southern side.

It's technically possible to kill every monster on the northern half, including the two LV10 berserkers, but it requires a decent amount of skill and some favorable glyph spawns. If you manage it, the boss is instantly revealed and you can cast WEYTWUT on him to jump behind the wall and get the rest of the glyphs. Killing the boss himself is easy, as he has no defense against magical attacks. Just spam BURNDAYRAZ until he's dead. Exceptionally easy to do with the Elf's enlarged mana pool, a few mana potions or a level catapult. Take your pick. Thanks to the Wizard's "-1 glyph cost" and "double burn stacks" traits, you could even simply out-regenerate the boss as soon as you reach LV6.

"Bloo Hoo" (Sorcerer)

ESSENCE TRANSIT: Every mana point spent regenerates 2 health
ARCANE KNOWLEDGE: +5 starting mana
MANA SHIELD: Deals one magic damage per hero level whenever an enemy hits you

Boss: Whurl'doff Goo (LV10 Goo Blob, 67 damage, 286 HP, 50% physical resist)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271371644
Fairly straightforward challenge. Follow the default strategy for standard dungeons: level up to LV7, find the boss and kill him with a level catapult and/or potions. The Sorcerer is probably the strongest overall class at low levels thanks to his Essence Transit trait. Although it loses a lot of its potency against high-level enemies, it's absolutely fantastic early on.

Find a spell glyph as soon as you can to take the maximum advantage of that mana-to-health trait. This allows you to easily kill enemies two levels above you. It also ignores the Serpents' poison. Use physical attacks against Goats and BURNDAYRAZ against Goo.

The Animated Armours can appear extremely daunting if you haven't encountered them before. However, they're easy to kill even with limited means if you play it smart. With every lost stack of Death Protection, their damage also decreases considerably. The Sorcerer's Mana Shield trait and the burning from BURNDAYRAZ are all good methods of removing those stacks. Here's an example from an actual successful run:

LV7 Sorcerer (42 damage, 91 HP, 18 mana) with no items other than a BURNDAYRAZ glyph vs a LV9 Animated Armour (89 damage, 66 HP, 9 x Death Protection)

1. hit the enemy once
2. cast BURNDAYRAZ on him
3. kill popcorn to ignite the burning stacks
4. repeat steps 2-3 two more times
At this point, the enemy damage is reduced to 34 and your health is increased to 38.
5. hit the enemy once
6. drink a health potion and hit the enemy to kill him OR drink a mana potion, cast BURNDAYRAZ, kill popcorn to ignite the burning stacks to kill the enemy

Not too difficult. The boss dies quickly to a BURNDAYRAZ spam with the help of a level catapult or mana potions.

"A Taste" (Bloodmage)

INSANE: Starts with the BLUDTUPOWA glyph and -3 mana
SANGUINE: Walking over a blood pool restores 20% of maximum health
POWER-HUNGRY: Mana potions are 60% effective and boost Sanguine, drinking blood restores 1 mana

Boss: Kim Royce (LV10 Paladin, 67 damage, 286 HP, magical attack)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271371772
The Bloodmage in this challenge starts out with no traits at all, but with -3 max mana. Your priority is to find a BURNDAYRAZ glyph as soon as you can. There are multiple copies of this glyph on the map, so convert any duplicates that you find. Make your way towards the red enemy marker on the screen. You will encounter a LV2 Damned One. Once you kill him, you'll receive the BLUDTUPOWA glyph and a new enemy marker will appear.

Be careful with Rusalkas. They have a corrosive attack and leave behind a puddle that also causes corrosion if you step on it. Using the BLUDTUPOWA glyph enables you to spam BURNDAYRAZ and remove those pesky corrosive enemies. BLUDTUPOWA is also unaffected by mana burn, so you can always use it to regenerate mana. Another thing worth mentioning is that BLUDTUPOWA always reveals tiles closest to you, meaning that you can bypass those corrosion pools and use up blackspace you otherwise can't reach.

The next enemy marker reveals a LV5 enemy. Once you kill him, he'll grant you the Sanguine trait and a new enemy marker will appear. Note that Blood Snakes spawn copies of themselves when hit. While these copies grant no experience, they leave behind blood pools, providing you with a rather large supply for Sanguine. You can combine your three abilities to kill Wraiths 4-5 levels above you: cast BURNDAYRAZ, cast BLUDTUPOWA to restore mana and recast BURNDAYRAZ, drink blood with Sanguine to restore health and recast BLUDTUPOWA to restore mana and recast BURNDAYRAZ, etc.

The next enemy marker reveals a LV8 enemy. Killing him unlocks the rest of Bloodmage's traits. Once he's dead, the boss will appear. You can kill her fairly easily even at LV6 by only using BURNDAYRAZ, BLUDTUPOWA and blood pools, although you should reach LV7 with little difficulty. Replenish mana with BLUDTUPOWA and use Sanguine to replenish both health and mana. The boss will end up with multiple burning stacks and take tons of damage from fireballs. You could also use mana potions and abuse your Power-Hungry trait, but it's not even needed.

The Bloodmage is by far the most difficult class to grasp at first, as it requires a very specific playstyle, whereas all other classes have fairly obvious strengths. It's also the only class that requires you to unlock all of his abilities during the course of the challenge, so you could slowly learn to use them. However, if played correctly, the Bloodmage is an absolutely devastating class.
Thief Den
"The Dark Project" (Thief)

STABBER: Deals +30% damage to enemies with full health
HOARDER: +33% more items on dungeon map
SURVIVOR: All health/mana potions restore both health and mana

Boss: Groundskeeper (LV5 Animated Armour, 100 damage, 40 HP, first strike)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271370733
This is a very unique challenge for many reasons. First, you play as a fixed character - Garrett the Thief. Second, you can't level up past LV1. The map is also MUCH smaller than usual. There are chests scattered around which include either specific glyphs or items. Each killed enemy also drops a small pendant that grants you +1 damage and +1 health.

For a start, open the chest next to you and pick up the GETINDERE glyph. Kill a guard with the help of the glyph and pick up the pendant. Kill more guards as you explore, balancing your health and mana by only attacking the guards if you can take the hit and using GETINDERE if you can't. Kill more enemies and collect more pendants. Remember to only attack a guard if you can one-shot him. The bonus damage from the Stabber trait should make this quite easy.

Don't try to open all the chests. Chests of levels 2-4 can be skipped, because your inventory space is very limited thanks to the large number of pendants you will end up collecting. The Pendant of Health from the level 2 chest, the BURNDAYRAZ glyph from the level 3 chest and the Fine Sword from the level 4 chest are not that useful. By the way, don't forget to convert your starting journal for extra space to hold more pendants.

To kill the LV5 Groundskeeper, you need to unlock the level 5 chest containing the WEYTWUT glyph in order to negate the enemy's first strike. You also need to deal at least 40 damage in one hit. Convert your GETINDERE glyph, as well as WEYTWUT (after you've used it on the Groundskeeper) for the extra 10% damage boosters. Your inventory should be almost full of pendants at this point, which easily pushes your damage over 40 (with the addition of the +30% damage from Stabber) and allows you to one-shot the boss. If you didn't mess anything up, you shouldn't even need to use a single potion.

"Going Rogue" (Rogue)

DEXTROUS: First strike in combat, ignoring level constraints
EVASIVE: +20% starting dodge trait
DANGEROUS: +40% starting damage bonus, per-level health gain lowered by 5

Bosses:
Lord Lüt (LV10 Bandit, 46 damage, 143 HP, mana burn, poisonous)
Mr Treshar (identical stats)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271371411
Two bosses in this challenge dungeon! You start with a unique item - The Wall Cruncher (which is not really even needed unless you become stuck while exploring). You should also find a WEYTWUT glyph near you. The available space in this challenge is fairly limited, so this glyph will be very useful indeed.

Target the enemies with the glyph to reposition them into corners, so they don't block off the narrow paths. Keep repositioning monsters into corners until you find a LV2 enemy. Use WEYTWUT to kill him while he's slowed to level up instantly on a single kill.

There are two ENDISWAL glyphs found in the passageways. These can help you level up and clear new paths in the dungeon. Beware of the curse stacks from Bandits, which will negate your damage reduction from Stone Skin. Killing a non-cursebearing enemy will reduce your curse stacks by one. BYSSEPS and PISORF glyphs are also found in the dungeon. Using combinations of these glyphs (as well as your natural first strike and damage bonus traits) will easily allow you to kill enemies 2-3 levels higher than you.

You can kill both LV10 bosses pretty easily by using the following strategy. I was actually really proud to have figured this one out. It might be unimpressive for experienced players, but discovering these unique strategies is very satisfying.

LV6 Rogue with no potions or items:

1. use WEYTWUT to place both bosses next to each other
2. cast ENDISWAL to survive a single hit from a boss
3. cast BYSSEPS
4. cast PISORF three times to damage both bosses at once
5. hit one of the bosses twice
6. you will instantly gain a level from the kill
7. two-shot the second boss
8. PROFIT!

"Winter Is Coming" (Assassin)

POISONED BLADE: Starts with the APHEELSIK glyph, +40% bonus damage to poisoned enemies, -20% starting damage bonus
LIGHT FOOT: Exploring the area around a monster grants first strike in combat
SWIFT HAND: Attacking a lower-level monster always results in an instant kill

Boss: Shard (LV7 Ice Troll, 138 damage, 990 HP, 75% physical resist, 75% magic resist)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271371534
The Assassin's Swift Hand trait allows you to instantly kill any enemy of lower level, regardless of their health, resistances, first strike, etc. In other words, you've essentially won this challenge as soon as you reach LV8.

The Assassin starts with the APHEELSIK glyph and can make good use of it to easily kill enemies of higher level by regen-fighting them to death. Feel free to convert the contract you start with. Poison is only effective against Meat Men here, because Trolls have fast regeneration and undead are immune to poison. Casting APHEELSIK on a LV2 Meat Man, for example, allows you to regenerate 5 tiles without letting the enemy regenerate any heath. This also restores the mana needed for a new APHEELSIK. You will also find BYSSEPS here, which makes leveling even easier.

Your goal is to get bonus XP from killing higher-level Meat Men. Use IMAWAL on Zombies and Trolls to boost your XP when you take out enemies one-two levels above you. Always keep the enemies poisoned for extra damage from your Poisoned Blade trait. Don't forget to clear blackspace around enemies if you need first strike from the Light Foot trait for the killing blow. Once you run out of suitable higher-level enemies, keep killing weaker monsters until you reach LV8 and assassinate the boss.
Church
"The Deadites" (Priest)

GOOD HEALTH: Gains an extra 3 health per level
GOOD DRINK: Health potions are 100% effective
GOOD GOLLY: +100% damage bonus against undead

Boss: Bad Ash (LV10 Warlock, 112 damage, 636 HP, 100% death gaze, magical attack)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271370671
This challenge basically demonstrates the Priest's effectiveness at killing undead, as almost all enemies in this challenge are easy pickings for your +100% damage bonus. There are two unique items that spawn here - The Boomstick (+5 damage, +10 max health) and the Chainsaw (also +5 damage, +10 max health). Yay for references! Explore until you find both of these.

Don't be afraid to waste a ton of blackspace, because the Vampires' lifesteal can be troublesome later on. It's best to find them as soon as possible. There is also a WONAFYT glyph here to help you set up a popcorn bowl as you explore. Entirely avoid the Heretics because of their 100% death gaze and their non-undeadness (is that even a word?).

Once you have your weapons, you can kill a LV5 undead enemy at LV1 by using a single health potion or GETINDERE and level up twice. Using IMAWAL will also help you level up incredibly fast. Ideally, you'd want to kill enemies 4-5 levels higher than you. It's even possible to kill a LV9 Vampire as a LV3 Priest with the help of your two weapons, a health potion and GETINDERE.

The boss Bad Ash (again with the references!) is notably NOT an undead monster. There is a unique item in this dungeon called Pepper the Dog that turns one enemy into an undead creature when you attack him. To kill the boss:

1. use Pepper the Dog
2. hit the boss once
3. kill popcorn to level up from LV8 to LV9
4. spam health potions and beat down the boss

The Priest's 100% health potion efficiency neatly counteracts the 100% death gaze. You should have more than enough potions to beat the boss. At most 3-4 potions are needed and there are plenty of them to be found in this challenge. Using BYSSEPS and/or GETINDERE during the boss fight makes it even easier.

"Meat Beat" (Monk)

HAND TO HAND: -2 base damage per level, -30% starting damage bonus
DIAMOND BODY: +50% starting physical resistance, higher resistance cap
DISCIPLINE: Health regeneration rate is doubled

Boss: The Punching Bag (LV10 Meat Man, 48 damage, 795 HP)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271371589
Thanks to his fast regen and +50% physical resist traits, the Monk is an absolute monster at regen-fighting. Coincidentally (or perhaps not), this challenge is all about regen-fighting. If you find the LEMMISI glyph early, use it a few times to uncover useful items. Don't convert it though, because you absolutely need this glyph to beat the final boss. Don't be afraid to explore. There is a large amount of blackspace you can't reach (water), so LEMMISI will allow you to regenerate health and mana by using the otherwise inaccessible blackspace.

Start using WONAFYT early on to create a popcorn bowl as you explore. There are a ton of attack boosters on this map, so once you've found a few boosters and the BYSSEPS glyph, start killing enemies one-two levels above you as usual. Your preferred targets will be Meat Men. Take care to avoid Mystery Meats, though, as they have magical attacks, which Diamond Body doesn't affect. Keep killing monsters until you reach LV7. You may even reach LV8, depending on your skill, but LV7 is fine. Feel free to convert the WONAFYT glyph for a small stat bonus at this point.

Use LEMMISI to regenerate health and mana before the boss fight if needed. Start beating him and regenerating your health with LEMMISI until he drops to 50% health. He then disappears into a subdungeon. Go down as well. By the time you reach him there, he will be at full health again. Simply start whaling on him in a straight-up war of attrition. There is a large amount of blackspace here, so simply use LEMMISI to out-regenerate him and finally finish him off. Cast BYSSEPS to speed up the process whenever you get the chance.

"Path of Light" (Paladin)

HOLY HANDS: Starts with the HALPMEH glyph, gains 1 extra health per level from HALPMEH
HOLY WORK: Cannot switch religions, god boons cost 20% less and gods will not punish for piety dropping to 0
HOLY SHIELD: +25% starting physical resistance

Boss: Bael Von Blud (LV8 Vampire, 64 damage, 198 HP, undead, bloodless, magical attack)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271372382
This is the only bronze challenge that includes worshipping gods, which just so happens to be one of the Paladin's main strengths. It's also the only bronze challenge that has an additional requirement of unlocking a deity (Glowing Guardian) before you can play it.

Locate the Glowing Guardian's altar as soon as possible (look for the tell-tale sparkling glow) and begin worshipping it. Feel free to take a few boons of Absolution while you're at it. Then find and kill a LV2 enemy or two (ideally a Serpent or a Bilious Corpse) to level up. Take care to avoid Wraiths - they're horrible enemies for Paladins thanks to their magical attack which negates Holy Shield and mana burn which negates HALPMEH.

Go to the altar and use the Humility boon to lower your level back to 1. An early Humility usually translates to huge bonus XP in the long run. Kill a LV3 enemy to reach LV2 again. You can now tackle LV4-5 enemies with HALPMEH. Keep killing enemies about three levels above you. Don't forget to hit Vampires whenever possible to remove their bonus health, as they can't regenerate it.

The boss is an immortal Vampire and you must first find an item called Orb of Litenment to turn him vulnerable. You can activate it once you reach 25 piety. You will earn piety by pleasing the Glowing Guardian - by converting glyphs, gaining levels, getting poisoned / mana burned and killing undead enemies. Avoid using the BLUDTUPOWA and APHEELSIK glyphs (convert them if you find them). Don't use any potions either. Once you reach LV6, prepare a level catapult and use the Orb.

1. hit the boss
2. use HALPMEH twice and hit the boss again
3. kill popcorn to level up
4. attack the boss, use HALPMEH twice, win

Really easy. No other glyphs are even needed for the boss fight. You could use the Glowing Guardian's Protection boon during the boss fight to restore health and mana (you will likely have a massive amount of piety at this point), but it's likely also unnecessary.
Explorers' Guild
"Finding a Way" (Transmuter)

DUNGEON LORE: Starts with the LEMMISI glyph
INNER FOCUS: Using glyphs increases item conversion bonus by 3
SPIRIT SWORD: Hitting the conversion threshold drains mana and adds temporary damage based on hero level and max mana

Boss: Rockslide (LV10 Golem, 67 damage, 429 HP, cowardly)

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=271372663
Transmuters can be challenging to play, but very rewarding once you master them. It's all about correctly timing your Spirit Sword trait in order to deliver massive hits. This challenge itself is made somewhat tricky by the fact that every enemy has the cowardly trait, which basically knocks them back every time you hit them.

First, cast LEMMISI several times to uncover the location of the other glyphs. Grab as many boosters and glyphs as you can and level up normally on a LV2 monster. For your second level-up, you'd ideally want to set up a kill three levels higher than you. Fireball an enemy twice with BURNDAYRAZ and use your Spirit Sword trait to kill him by converting one of your glyphs or forcing the conversion through Inner Focus.

Here's how Spirit Sword works: each time you reach a full conversion threshold, your entire mana pool is depleted and your base damage is increased for the duration one attack based on your max mana and the level of your hero. For example, a LV3 hero with 10 max mana gets a +13 bonus to his base damage for the next attack. The buff can only apply once, meaning that if you trigger two Spirit Swords simultaneously, only one of them will be applied and the second is essentially wasted.

Keep setting up your Spirit Sword and killing enemies at least three levels above you (a LV6 monster as a LV3 hero, a LV7 monster as a LV4 hero, etc.). Because the accessible area is very narrow and there are a TON of monsters in this challenge, there isn't much room to move around and you can easily become boxed in by enemies. However, this also means that you can abuse your LEMMISI glyph and rack up your Inner Focus trait bonus by uncovering inaccessible tiles and regenerating mana in the process.

Once you reach LV7, prepare a level catapult and a Spirit Sword with a spare glyph. Make sure the boss can't run into any blackspace. First, cast both fireballs with BURNDAYRAZ. Then convert a glyph and hit the boss with a Spirit Sword boost. Then catapult yourself fo LV8 and repeat. The boss should fall easily after the second onslaught. If you planned your casts perfectly before engaging the boss, you could trigger two more Spirit Swords after leveling, once thanks to Inner Focus (10-12 points from threshold before boss fight), the second time by converting BURNDAYRAZ. You might need a few potions during the boss fight, but it shouldn't be too hard either way.

"New Prospects" (Tinker)

MERCHANT: Two extra shops in dungeons
NEGOTIATOR: Items cost 5 gold less in shops
MACGUYVER: Starts with an alchemy kit, can sense dungeon stairs

Boss: Cutty Snark (LV5 Rogue, 22 damage, 48 HP, first strike)

The Tinker is a very unique class because he doesn't have a single trait to help him with combat. Instead, he is entirely dependent on shops. Fittingly enough, this challenge is populated by nearly twenty shops, as well as several piles of treasure. There are also multiple Thieves and Cutthroats, who instantly steal 1 gold every time they manage to hit you. The boss levels up every time you do. Because of this, she will always be four levels above you. This will also negate any level catapult strategies.

Use the seals from your starting "alchemy kit" to generate extra gold from walls and buy/steal useful items from shops to prepare for the boss fight. You don't even have to fight any enemy other than the boss in this challenge. There are a variety of strategies that work here, depending on which items and glyphs spawn on the map. For example, you could use damage-boosting equipment with the CYDSTEPP glyph and Badge of Courage for double Death Protection and a huge damage spike. You could buy mana-boosting equipment, throw fireballs with BURNDAYRAZ and spam mana potions like there's no tomorrow. Get creative. The more items you have unlocked, the more options you have, but it's completely possible to beat this challenge with very basic items.

"The Ratlings" (Crusader)

MOMENTUM: Successive killing blows add bonus damage. Leveling up or losing momentum halves the bonus
SCARRED: Immune to poison, mana burn and curses
MARTYR: Extra altar in dungeon

Boss: Keeng Ra'at (LV10 Ratling, 999 damage, 100 HP, first strike, retaliate: fireball, fast regen)

The most important aspect of the Crusader is his Momentum trait, as you will soon discover during this challenge. The boss can only be killed by dealing over 100 damage with a single attack. This is what Momentum is all about - dealing massive damage in one hit.

Normally, Orcs are the natural choice for Crusaders thanks to their racial bonus, which then gets a huge boost through Momentum. However, the conversion value of glyphs is drastically reduced in this challenge, meaning that any conversion bonuses won't help you much. It's also important to note that casting BURNDAYRAZ lowers your momentum, so avoid using that glyph when you're attempting to build up your damage bonus.

There is a unique item called Orb of Lethar in this dungeon, which can be used to slow the boss once he's visible. This allows you to set up the 100-damage hit by negating the enemy's first strike. Since you're immune to curse and poison, Serpents and Bandits become excellent targets for leveling. Meat Men are difficult to utilize because of their large health pool, which lowers your momentum quickly.

First try to level up normally and leave as many low-level monsters alive as possible. The glyphs are always the same - ENDISWAL, BYSSEPS, IMAWAL, BURNDAYRAZ, LEMMISI. The Pactmaker altar also always spawns here, so you can use the Consensus boon to gain 50 piety and then activate Scholar's Pact (150% health and BYSSEPS buff on each level-up) to make the leveling process even easier. Start building your momentum as soon as you reach either LV6 or LV7 and deliver the finishing blow to the boss once your damage output reaches 100.

I've done pretty well with the guides so far, and it's been so long I don't know if anyone looks here anymore, but I've tried following the instructions for the Transmuter and I keep coming up short of glyphs somehow.

Awesome guid. But there is no such things as a popcorn bowl or a level catapult. Just some definitions that the developper of this game pulled out of his as.s.
It's just bothers me alot reading these.
