CSGO - How To Fix Crashing On Startup & Black-Screen

Launch Options

Open up your Steam Library

Right-click CS:GO and select Properties

On the new window, select Set Launch Options

Use the following commands:

-autoconfig

-windowed

The came could already flawlessly open and run now without getting crashes. In this case, you can change the windowed setting back to fullscreen in your CSGO video settings.

File Explorer

Open up your file explorer and go to the drive on which you saved CSGO on.

Go to: Steam > Steamapps > common > Counter-Strike Global Offensive > delete the CSGO.exe application.

Next, go back to your CSGO properties in your Steam Library and in the Local Files section, select Verify Integrity Of Game Files

When the verification is done, go back to your file explorer and right-click the CSGO.exe application to get to it’s properties.

On the new window, select Compatibility and make sure that everything is unchecked.

Updates

Make sure that your operating system and video driver is up to date! This can have a lot of impact on your system depending on how long you haven’t updated yet and what your system specs are.
