Introduction
A GOOD PORTION OF THIS GUIDE IS OUT OF DATE - I AM WORKING TO CORRECT THIS

This is a work in progress. If you have any information/stats for the ships, please let me know.


Notes about the Ships:
Gun decks are listed like this a/b:c/d:e/f:g, where a is the number of gun decks, b:c is deck 1, d:e is deck 2, f:g is deck 3 - b, d and f are max number of guns on a deck and c, e and g are highest caliber for each gun deck.

Available Calibers:
8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 42


If a ship has 1 Deck that is caliber 8 with 2 guns, it would be 1/2:8
If a ship has 2 Decks that are, caliber 8 with 2 guns on deck 1 and caliber 12 with 4 guns on deck 2, it would be 2/2:8/4:12
If a ship has 3 Decks that are, caliber 8 with 2 guns on deck 1, caliber 12 with 4 guns on deck 2, and caliber 16 with 6 guns on deck 3, it would be 3/2:8/4:12/6:16
Long Term Tactics
Tactic 1
  • Build up an army of 60+ soldiers, 1/2 musketeers and 1/2 CQB. Get a ranged weapon, a sword, and a sack of grenades. You also need a cash reserve of 3500.
  • Figure out which country you want to go war with. Pick one with that is at war with multiple factions and has an outlying territory that has a garrison of <30 and no lord nearby. (These do exist, they are just sometimes hard to find)
  • Take a day or two to watch the patrol patterns.
  • Attack a small patrol next to the city, no more than 15 troops. This will anger the faction and allow you to besiege the city.
  • Attack the city and Annex it.
  • After you annex the city, hunker down and move all your party to the garrison while buying a 50/50 ratio of ranged and CQB to put into the garrison from the Garrison Commander.
  • Wait in the tavern for a week to be sure they haven't sent any ships towards you or until they request peace. Find a tax collector if you don't have one.
  • You can now use this city as a safe haven and a launching platform for other attacks. The average city can give you anywhere from 6k-10k a week, depending where it is situated.

  • Bonus Tip: Try to find a city that is in the middle of a trade route to boost your income.

Get Rich Quick Schemes
Tactic 1
Get a fleet of 2-3 good, FAST, ships that are size 2 and a good army of 30+ soldiers, 2 parts Musketeers and 1 part Pikemen/CQB infantry.
Hang around the choke-point between Baracoa and La Navidad.
Target the small smuggler/pirate fleets with 2-3 low level ships and and <20 party members, like Snows, Sloops, and Schooners if you think you can take them.
Equip Grapeshot and use the default line formation.
Stay outside of the enemies boarding zone and kill 66%+ of their crew, it shouldn't be hard with the low level ships
Board the damaged ships and kill their skeleton crews and whatever enemies are in the party
repeat until all of the pirate ships are captured.
Take them to the nearest port and SELL THEIR CANNONS BEFORE YOU SELL THE SHIPS
Repeat until you have enough money.

ANY how do you get 3rd 2nd and 1st rate ships i havent seen any in game yet. i have all forth rate ships i have 6 of them

This has not been updated since Jun 4, 2014 so a fair bit of this information is out of date. Once I start playing Carribean again, I will update this.

Sorry to ask but could you tell me what all the # mean in refrence to cannon Decks , bow cannons and stern cannon? Not sure I fully understand 3/22:32/20:32/16:24 or 2:16 or even 2:24. Thanks

good job, u should mention that u need ranking, rep, etc to be able to take over a city, also for
finding a 1st rate, there rare for me atm, maybe im not rank high enough, as I saw a few ships with them, I went the ladder and kill ships higher and higher , got myself a 2nd rate after a few days of looting ships, freaking nice :)

trick to get a better ship is to shoot down the sailors until its 0,also make sure u don't go into its gun`s , I went in front of the ship [ forgot names of it] then turn shoot one side, shoot the other side as u stay in front of the ship, if u have a smaller crew then the ship u want to fight he will keep coming after u.i just went 45 degree. then its easy
