Hex Seed Symbol

Description
Hex Seed
Common Symbol
Gives 1
If adjacent to any hex symbol, grows into the same symbol.

Hex Seed works with the 7 original Hex symbols and the 7 Hex symbols in the Hexes o' Plenty mod. Any other modded Hex symbols will appear in the description, but, due to the way it is scripted, the Hex Seed will not actually respond to them.

Represented as a copy of the Seed symbol with a red colouring evocative of the hex symbols.

Not part of any group.

I recommend just winging it, but wrote some strategy notes:

The Hex Seed is a 1per common symbol that grows (transforms) into a duplicate of the first hex it touches. On the turn it grows, it gives 1 coin as a Hex Seed plus the value of the hex it grows into, but there are no additional bonus coins awarded.

As a common, adding this symbol to the pool will significantly open up your opportunities to spice up your run with more hexes.

At the start of a run, the Hex Seed offers viability as most commons do by giving 1 reliable coin per spin, but doesn't belong to any groups that are buffed or eaten by other symbols, nor does it buff or eat anything itself.

Once the rent increases and 1 coin no longer cuts it, any of the 7 uncommon hex symbols that are offered will represent an opportunity to increase the payout from the space occupied by any Hex Seeds. Make sure your inventory can handle the effect of the hex, though; it will be subject to much more of it! If you can't find a fitting hex, removal may be the best option for leftover Hex Seeds.

Clearly, the Hex Seed is at its best if you have a situation where a certain hex's effect is negated, or even made beneficial. If you have more than one type of hex, you typically won't be able to control which type the Hex Seeds turn into. It might make sense to remove competing hexes to ensure your Hex Seeds, present and future, grow into the hex you want.

With the right hex-related items and essences, Hex Seeds become extremely valuable by common symbol standards, and are especially likely to appear with low luck modifiers, or better yet, negative luck modifiers from Hexes of Tedium. Witch symbols also pull up the value of Hex Seeds. Take good advantage of them when they pop up during your hex runs.

The Hex Seed symbol doesn't belong to any groups, so it is not affected by any non-universal interactions until it grows into a hex. It is also not currently affected by any items, including items that affect Seed symbols; Watering Can does not give them a coin bonus for growing, and Compost Heap does not generate them.
