What is the Lootapult ?

The lootapult is a loot source located in Flamerock Refuge and in the Mine of Avarice. For 10 eridiums it will launch a red chest, which as a fair chance of dropping legendary, eridium and seraphs crystals.

The read-only method

To trick the game in letting you make a infinite number of throw, we will put our save files in "Read Only" in Windows. Which means that any progress won't be saved. To save our guns that we get from the lootapult we will put them in the claptrap safe that is on another save file. This method can be used in any other methods that require you to spend seraphs crystals, eridium and cash.

Let's Go

First, make sure you have enough eridium to do your throw, I would recommend to have around 200 in order to be efficient, but any quantity would work.
Head in your files to locate your save files, the path is the following: "C:\Users\user1\Documents\My Games\Tiny Tina's Assault On Dragon Keep\WillowGame\SaveData\7656119807XXXXXXX"
Right click on your saves files ( "Save0001.sav" ), click on properties then at the end of the page check the "read only" option. Finally hit "apply".
Enter your game with the character you choose to exploit. Spend all your eridium. If you find a gun you would like to keep save it in your claptrap stash ( located next to the 3 vending machines at flamerock spawn ).
Once the guns saved, exit the session and reload the character with "Select character" option the main menu. Spend Loot Repeat.
To exit the "Read Only" method just head back to your saves files and uncheck the "Read Only" option.

On Linux (with WINE), would setting the savefile to be immutable with chattr +i work?

What the fuck is wrong with you lmao. Its a fucking singleplayer game, let us play how we want. How about you move on to a "better" game if you dont like it? Or play singleplayer only. Modding is an intergral part of this game which I use to try fun builds or when I dont wanna play to get to endgame again.

Yeah, that whole chestnut is a weak argument. People strip and break code and inject personal files and editing tools, which is cheating, because online activity game. The game changes when others can be involved or infected. People dont care when you mod or modify fallout new vegas, but keep the issue contained. Cheated weapons, hacked guns, straight lobby breaking existed before this cute harmless data changing crap. If the game is 100% beat you move on to any other one of the 10 thousand games steam has. Never got this mindset. We are gamers, we rent the right to play these games. We own none of it, we are visitors. Enjoy the product, respect the material and play anything else. Idk. Seems like a stupid reason to justify this.

Yeah i understand what you mean but then ill speak for myself with my little 700h in borderlands franchise, once you did everything in a 100% legit way, its nice to mess with the game and try to find new way of playing it. That's why those Content Creator are trying to explore new ways to farm, legitness is not a priority anymore as you already done it multiple times. But i know what you mean don't get me wrong.

Yeah so what you said but with different words was "It was first found in order to exploit the game and cheat by getting back into an area you normally could only go in once." Its amazing how all these people fawn over some borderlands youtubers who don't even play the game legit most of the time. I would love to see a glitchless, exploitless run done by some of these people but that just won't happen. Like I said all you need to do is wait a little into TVHM like 26-28 and then go farm the dragons in NVHM and you have infinite eridium and you don't have to exploit.

Works too ! It was first found in order to farm Marcus Vault in BL2, wasn't really an eridium problem but rather founding a fun loot source to farm :p

Or just wait until you are a little ways into TVHM and then go back to normal mode and kill dragons a bunch. I love how all these youtubers dont want to put the time in.
