In the video demonstration at the bottom of this guide, I am not fighting Odin in an optimal manner. Not only did I steal twice because I'm a noob, but I also don't have the hardest hitting classes. The video doesn't show the best way to kill him, but instead shows that it is indeed possible to kill him without struggling or overlevelling too much.

For those who don't know, Odin is the only source for Gungnir. Gungnir is the second strongest spear a Dragoon can use.

You'll also have to defeat odin if you wish to obtain the 'No Such Thing as Too Many' achievement.

Obtain all the summonable creatures.


A few things that will help in this battle:

• Set all characters to the back row.
  
• Have at least 4-6 item versions of Firaga/Blizzaga/Thundaga which can easily be obtained from Ropers in the Cave of Tides.
  
• Use characters that have some affinity to magic with the exception of Thief (to steal Gungnir). I have been told that high mentality characters can survive Zantetsuken better.
  
• Spam Cura/Curaja if you have it!

• Luneth - 35/73 Black Mage - Bio, Thundaga/Firaga/Blizzaga
  
• Ingus - 35/74 Red Mage - Arctic Wind/Bomb Arm/Heavenly Wrath First Turn then Cura Spam
  
• Arc - 35/55 Geomancer - Terrain Spam
  
• Reifa - 35/93 Thief (minimum of job level 71 to steal Gungnir) - Steal 1st Turn and Arctic Wind/Bomb Arm/Heavenly Wrath Spam (if Steal worked)

You can get better results if you switch one of your characters to a Scholar (just for the double item damage). Their item lore stays the same even at job level 1.
