General FAQ and tips
By Green Cat
I'm not main English and dyslexic, however, I do love this game and there is nothing in English, so I spend a couple of hourse writing whatever I saw as a good to know hoping I can help others who are playing this game. There might be non story spoiler as the game's 3rd episode is nothing like episode 2 and both are nothing like episode 1.

Intro
I love Mylne and I'm sad to see the game doesn't have more fans. So I will at least try and create a FAQ for general stuff since I did 100% of the game. Only thing I will refuse to do: Maps. Maps in Episode 3 are way too huge.

This FAQ will be superficial unless more people will request (via comments) for more info, like that I know what to improve.

Warning:

1. I'm non-main English and I'm dyslexic on top, meaning everything I write is via autocorrect and might be grammatically incorrect and cause misunderstanding.

2. I'm writing out of my memory so I might not remember some stuff correctly

3. Non-Story Spoilers (like how many dungeons, names of NPC and how they help you, weapons and items name, and effects). As in: I won't be using spoiler tags as nothing is STORY spoiler

As such, please point out/ask via comment section if you notice anything I need to rewrite as part of my disability is the fact that I am not able to organize information clearly and neatly as a "normal" person can.

General random FAQ
Q0: You did not cover [information].

A0: please post in the comment section and I will update accordingly.

Q1: Are the answers from the legacy version (of the game) for the mushrooms quiz good for this game?

A1: No. They are retranslated, some new added as well. If there is a request for them, I will create a guide for them. However, if no one requests them (via comments) I assume it's a waste of my time to do such a guide...

Q2: What are a few differences between this and the original game?

A2: Voice actors (I find them perfect for each character, especially Mylne! She is the most adorable girl ever! Must protect!!); new characters design (not obvious as episode NPCs don't look that ok); Original (legacy) only has 2 episodes, this one has 3, and Episode 3 is another extra 20 hours easily if you want 100% achievements. It's so hard that episode 2 feels like a long tutorial. New skills, items, and game mechanics. Sadly the story is short.... too short....you spend most of the time traveling in the dungeon and battling random enemies as that's how (unnecessary) huge the maps are in episode 3.

Q3: Is episode 3 a direct continuation from episode 2?

A3: It's more a what-if addition for episode 2, but the credits after the story are after the events from episode 2 so the answer is a yes after you beat the game.

Q4: How many layers (dungeons)?

A4: Episode 2 has 3. Episode 3 has 3 as well + 1 extra post-game Dungeon

Q5: Any missable?

A5: yes. Way too many...Like achievements, I will cover them later, for now, remember: Once you advance to an episode, you can't return, so you will miss out on some achievements.....and once you access episode 3, you can never access the forest and it's folk again....so make sure you say your goodbye....(personal opinions: I wish episode 2 & 3 had more story elements from episode 1...I did not like the dungeons....at least if it was in a forest and lakes environment....maybe there will be an episode 4 one day with such elements? I want more Mylne! ). So if you're battling 3rd layer's boss (and will be obvious due to the story) but didn't save....do a horrible act.....and let Mylne be knocked out.....that way she will be back to the entrance. Ah, and you'll get the option to rewatch or skip the whole boss intro story, so it's worth it in a way to challenge the boss and lose on purpose for the final episode 2 save.

Q6: Any maps for the layers?

A6: there is a guide (no in English but clear enough) for episode 2 in the guide section, please check it out. I am not aware for episode 3 and I will tell you for now: prepare mentally, especially the 5th layer, which is so huge, with 15-16 floors, that you get tired to continue...Use mobile tents to save often, 1 mistake, and you need to walk all the way back, just use the tents!

Q7: What does the Lantern use for?

A7: No clue. Honestly......

Q8: How to beat mimic (episode 3)?

A8: all you need is to ambush it with grass! Aka, use "Staff of the Dark Hare", to knock it out and heal up, ALWAYS HEAL TO MAX, because Mimics have a special attack you can't avoid that will do 50% damage of your max HP (rounded up) aka, if you are hit twice in a rowed by it, your death.....it happened to me twice so yeah....always use a tent to save before....since, if you lose, the chest with the mimic will be gone, together with all the rewards.....Your level does not matter. You can beat the mimic anytime as long as you can keep on healing to the max. So it's better to leave all mimics in the 4th layer alone until Rosetta joins you (after the 4th layer boss). Then you can go hunt for Mimic as they give 99 merit points (needed to level up Rosetta) vs 1 from random enemy battles. A mimic medal you can save when you actually need silver coins as selling it will give you 99 silver coins. So you actually will WANT to find mimics and beat them.

Q9: How do I bead Extra boss 1 & 2?

A9: Same as mimic actually..... (Use "Staff of Dark Hare").for extra boss 2, make sure to avoid the rotating beam as you will have 1 HP and that beam does 100 damage.

Q10: How do I get Staff of Dark Hare?

A10: Sorry, as I said at the beginning, I write out of memory, so I need to say: I don't remember. I had it as I explored the 4th layers as I defeated all mimics using it before I touched the 5th layer)

Q11: What should I invest the merit points in?

A11: Rosetta. Don't even bother with anything else. Her damage (secret skill follow-up) is huge once "Relic Master" is level 3, and even level 2 is big (not the same as Mylne but it's helping out a lot). And she feeds you. The more you level her up, the more food she gives you (during battle only). Like that, you can move on forever (waring: create a habit to use mobile tents randomly, not so much for food but to save. maps are just too big).

Q12: What are the max stats?

A12: Level 99 (ignore mimic's level, it's just to scare you), HP and Food 9.999 Attack 3.000, Defense 2.000, Agility 99. All are hard caps, meaning any additional buff of equipment won't suppress those values. Like Mylne has a 1.500 attack, with a 100% attack buff she'll do 3.000 normal damage. However, if she has a 2.000 attack, and you buff her attack by 100%, she WON'T do 4.000 but still 3.000 damage. Aka, 3.000 is a hard cap for normal damage

Q13: Best Weapons?

A13: Depends on your playstyle. In my case, I used only 2: The Staff of the Dark Hare (again mimics) and Decrepit Remnants any other time as, normally, you are NOT supposed to get hurt. Don't let Mylne get hurt you monster! So, the 80% debuff (decrease) did not affect me (usually...sorry Mylne) and the 100% buff (increase, double your damage) is very welcome.

Q14 About Decrepit Remnants

A14 You damage get double but you take almost double damage instead. It's worth it since you are supposed to avoid and parry all the time (seriously...I finished the whole game, everything, and still did not get the 1.000 kills and 500 parry until much later....). If I remember correctly, you get it from layer 4th's boss. If you upgrade it to level 10, it will transform to Yggdrasill, needed for a trophy, and second-highest attack weapon in-game (and because the highest is a drop from the final extra dungeon boss, you will definitely use this weapon almost all of episode 3, so don't hesitate to upgrade it as soon as possible). How do you level it up all the way to level 10? 1st 2 enhance materials you'll get many as you progress through the game (don't waste your coins buying them from the shop), and the last one, Valorite Ingot, you'll get through the 6th layer's chest as well as collect them from tombstone 2 (as in after 5th layer and are extremely rare). You can get them from tombstone 3 as well but that's episode 3's end story boss so yeah...you'll have enough via random chest from the 6th layer. Plus the gluttery demon drops them as well (rarely)

Q15: Stats of Dark Hare, Yggdrasill, and Extra dungeon Boss 2?

A15: Dark Hare (lv5) Atk 150, Yggdrasill (lv10) Atk 400, EDB 2 (lv10) Atk 600 (honestly...the 200 attack difference won't even matter as there is nothing you will need it for. and the effect is 2.000 HP recovery over time vs double damage.....so basically, this staff will only be useful if you want to rechallenge said boss for whatever reason....but that's it).

Q16: Is parry important?

A16: Yes. Do it every single time you can. I finished everything and still didn't have the achievement because I couldn't bother waiting for them to attack me. And using the Staff of the Dark Hare's effect won't count as you haven't parried.

Q17: Are random enemies any issues:

A17: Each layer has only 2 random enemies at all times (+ random mimics in episode 3). Each time you start a new layer, they are overwhelmingly strong. But around the end of the layer, you beat them almost instantly. Except for the 6th and extra dungeon's enemies. They are like mid-boss. The gluttery dem
Book pages, AP and the Skills (episode 3)
You get Book pages randomly through chests, enemy defeats, and quest (do the quest as 1.000 kills will take ages anyway, so why not get leveled up, collect enemy drops, and more before moving to the next layer instead of doing it after you are done with the game?)

Nothing (event-wise) happens if you get all skills and just continue to give pages, regardless of how many. So don't stress yourself over farming book pages.

My personal recomandation:

--As soon as possible--

Divination - get this 1st, before efficiency or anything else. When you enter a tent, talk to the frog, Set both options to on, like that, this skill will automatically activate (consumes 5 food) and will tell you if there is a trap, locked, or nothing wrong. The second option, if everything is safe, Mylne will automatically open the chest.

Efficiency - Get it as soon as possible to level 3, Ignore anything else before it's level 3 (at level 3, you lose 4 food points, level 2, you lose 6 food points)
Trap Sense - as it helps with field traps. Plus, if you have, let say level 2, and you can't disable a trap from a level 2 chest, that is clearly a mimic so get that Dark Hare Staff and beat it!

Treasure Hunter - exactly like it says, enemies will drop treasure chest, meaning anything you get from random dungeon chest, at level 3, almost every time (so silver, food, indigo, medal, keys, and more)

Relic Mastery - The damage Rosetta inflicts it's no joke. Especially at level 3. It's random however what attack she'll use. Well worth for long term and against bosses.

Strategist - level 1 will provide 3 TP. Level 2 will provide 6. Level 4 will provide 10. Level 1 is the ASAP because with 3 tp, you can instantly use weapon tech, like buff, to speed up battles against random enemies. Anything higher can be left for later, though level 3 (10 AP) with Staff of the Dark Hare gives you a better start against mimics.

Charge UP - this is a tricky one. Don't bother unless you can afford the food cost and it's at least level 2. At max attack (3.000 damage via normal attacks), the Secret move "Dig Me No Grave" does only 30.000 damage. When the strongest skill (obtained via the pirate event) "Chaotic Flurry" does 18.000 x3 (54.000 damage)(Mylne is so adorable as she does the battle cry of the attack's name!!). As such, for general random enemies, "Soul Steal" (neve neglect using it! save healing items for the boss, like mimics, where you can't afford to drag time) and "Chaotic Flurry" are the best (until you get "Chaotic Flurry", use Ruminant Triple Strike - you get it from episode 2 from collecting the rabbit souls after beating the 2nd layer boss, if you are at the start of episode 3, it's worth loading an episode 2 save to get it, but if you already made progress, don't worry too much about it, as most of the time you'll use "Soul Steal" anyways and). Against bosses (and mimics)...."Soul Steal" and "Dig Me No Grave" (at least level 2 skill) are the best. The ability will make the move "Dig Me No Grave" repeat itself. and not just once. Each time Mylne activates that super skills, if the "Charge UP" ability is active (check top right, where buff are), there is a change (depending on its level) for the super skill to repeat itself. It's not 100% even at level 3 but most of the time it will repeat 1-3 times. Meaning, even if it repeats itself once (at max damage) that's 60.000 damage. Most of the time, doing 90.000 - 120.000 damage. the most I saw was 5 or 6 (sorry, didn't count) repeats, if you're lucky, you do 100.000 more damage than using just "Chaotic Flurry" (but again, use "Chaotic Flurry" again random enemies, especially since hearing Mylne does life your spirit when tiered from traveling the massive dungeons....)

--When you can afford it and on your play style--

First Aid (depends on your food. Really useful for boss battles since Rosetta will feed you. Especially against mimics).

Unlock - even lv 1 is enough. However, it will take many tries if you try to unlock a higher level chest, wasting food and real life time repeating the attempt.

Self-Defense and Blade Master's Insight (passive Atk and Def bonus). Go for lv 1 as each cost 1 AP only. After, prioritize ATK this will help finish the battle faster and usually you won't be touched anyways (avoid and parry) so leave Def once you can afford it.

--Not sure--

Ruthless Attendant - Mix felling about this. Get level 1 as soon as you can as it cost 1 AP anyways. Obviously, at level 3, the relics will do way more damage so don't neglect to level this up when you can, but it's not that important vs others because books are rare. So take it easy leveling it up. (Save when you have loads of AP, test out her damage, and decide if it's the good time to invest)

Invincibility and War Cry - Sorry, I have no clue. As I can't see in battle increases and they cost food (at level 3, invincibility cost 80 food and war cry cost 300 food, Mylne's doing max damage due to weapon buff and potion without them.....)

--NEVER!--

Miasma Reduction - I never used it, the taken damage it's almost nothing anyways. And if your HP is low because of it, it's a good time to use a mobile tent to heal and save.

Adaptation - If you run out of food (or low HP), it's time to use a tent. And drag battle on with Rosetta. Set her strategy to offense as she'll feed you more often vs if you set her settings to prioritize healing

Stealth - Nevel. It cost 100 food as well. And this skill and Holy water don't even work. I used them in the 6th layer dungeon was a huge pain but nothing was different.

Destroy - NEVER. Use keys. They cost only 2 silver coins, enemies drop them, chest have them, quest have them, you only need the key item, this is a waste of AP (get level 1 for quest only as it cost only 1 AP anyways, but only when you have spare AP, don't rush)
Missables
Episode 1's missable achievement is Universal Truth (and the only battle in this episode).

For this, you need to collect everything, including all the fish*. Go to the Mole and speak to him, anything that hell react to (like the dizzy mushrooms) give to him. Like this, you will be able to create the 3rd potion and enable this event.

*I think at least....well you want the fish, especially shark, as many as you can, because selling them will make you rich - don't waste too much time, however, as you can farm more fish in episode 2 anytime. You won't be able in episode 3, so fish and sell before starting episode 3 but again, don't overdo it as you won't need them that much. They are helping out at the beginning with the food (ah, stock up on food, whatever you can excep fish, sell all fish as you will lose them)

Another side note, the penguin, put him to do wings or legs, and leave until max. I have no clue what causes him to increase. I did fishing or general story progress and he got maxed. When BOTH are max, send him off. When given the choice, the choice to go out with. Save before if you want to see what the other choice does, but above is for the best results.

Episode 2 has 3 missable achivents.

Save before episode 2 boss, as you can NEVER return to the forest once in episode 3.

1st, Relics Collector is to find all relics. SAVE!!! save before talking to Rosetta. If you did NOT get new ones, reload. It takes hours to farm them, so always do save and load before having her check them.

2nd, Wealth of Knowledge. For this, at the beginning of the 2nd layer, fall through the floor and do the puzzle until you get to a chest to obtain the key for the Reference Room. Make sure you use holy water (keep monster away) as you can't beat them (never tested once I was a higher level, the idea is you can't escape that room, so you need to get defeated - and lose all your unknown relics - to get out). Once in the 3rd layer, just pay attention and there will be a door you need that key for just as you enter, I think it's room/area 4 of the 3rd layer? Opening that door to the Reference Room will give you the achievement. I'm a bit disappointed that there wasn't anything interesting otherwise, just some chest....btw, make sure to repeat that floor to read all 20 or more notes, as they get interesting to see the background of the ..... well..... I won't say more because of the story spoiler. Anyways, you will need to repeat that layer because you can easily farm lv4 relics and some level 5.

3rd is Remnants and Shadows. This will be a good exercise for episode 3 as this boss will give you a taste of how prepared you are for the next episode. If you can parry and avoid all its attacks, you are ready (battle wise) for episode 3 because you will need to avoid all red attacks, defeat against all green and parry any other attack in episode 3 if you want to make it far. Plus the 500 parry achievements.....yeah.....don't underestimate it.....parry all the time

Extra: In the 2nd layer, once you beat the boss, go and check all the bunnies you found halfway through the layer. As you'll get one of the strongest secret move skills.

Episode 3 has only to beat 1 mimic. Something which you will most likely be actively doing starting the 5th layer anyways as mimic's reward is just so good.

And indirect missable is the post-game. Non-story spoiler: last story layer (6), has 2 bosses. after beating the 1st, you will be able to teleport back and save (leave 2nd boss after you are done with everything else as, once you beat the 2nd boss, you won't return to the game, you can still load saves before the 2nd boss of the 6th but after you beat that boss, credit (worth watching!!!!) rolls and that's it, no option to save or anything). You'll have a new tombstone now. Enter and go to the left, where there is a cave with light (if no light, look around until you find one), check it out to obtain a book. Bonus: you can farm easily Valorite Ingot if you still need more. With that book, go to 5 - 12, inside that house, and talk with the rabbit to get a musical instrument. Exist house, go left until you see a music note SAVE!!! (using a mobile tent) once you're buffed and everything and play the instrument while on it. Like this, a boss battle will happen. If you have difficulty, remember, you can lower the difficulty....and use Staff of the Dark Hare to make life easier. But only if you have difficulty, this battle is by far the most fun as it's constantly challenging you. Like the enemy will use a blue color attack that will halve your CURRENT HP. Once you won, you'll unlock her tombstone. Now for the next boss. Go to the start of the 6th layer. The 3rd room (where the tent is). There are 4 areas to the north/top (huge invisible tiles on the west/left in case you missed) and go to the right top exist. Once you're next to the exit, move around until you find the invisible tile on the left, you should arrive at a chest. Continue that path until you find once again a music note floor. Again, save via mobile tent (seriously....this boss has a move to reduce Mylne's hp to 1 and will use it a lot of the time) and beat it!!! (when the boss uses the attack that will reduce Mylne's hp is 1, be careful of that rotating beam of light/energy (?) because it will inflict 100 damage, aka knock her out. Just keep avoiding and avoiding until it disappears. And when you can, parry (or Staff of the Dark Hare) to be able to heal. It has massive HP so it will take ages even if Mylne does max damage (3.000 damage via normal attacks). Once both are beaten, go to the entrance and the tombstone area and you'll enter post-game extra dungeon 1 (careful of random enemies, always avoid and parry), and this is how the whole game should have been....small but full of puzzles and story.... (dear dev...if there will be an episode 4 (please make episode 4! episode 3 credit is a perfect point to start episode 4), please make all dungeons like that, the 6th layer dungeon's puzzle was annoying and not fun and the 5th was unnecessary long...). Once you beat the boss, you are done with extra dungeon 1, though it's worth to rebattle the boss. Like the sword (needed for an achievement), you can use its skill to defeat random enemies fast if you have used your AP to start with 10 TP. That said, I didn't use it because of the 500 parry achievement... And drops are random, I needed to defeat her 5 times to get the sword. Once you have defeated her (once) inside her tombstone, you can finally access extra dungeon 2 (that IS the same dungeon, - previous boss, + another layer and another Boss). The second layer is big (a lot to walk) but it's still a huge improvement over the 5th and 6th layers, and the end boss is obviously the boss that loves to reduce Mylne HP to 1. Again, tons of HP, good luck beating him. Once finished, you're done story-wise with post-game.
Conclusion
No copy-pasting or anything on other websites. It took me hours to write this, regardless if people are happy or not with how I wrote stuff (again, post in the comment section and I'll update).
The whole purpose of my guide is to hopefully help anyone who plays this game and needs extra help or info.
And for the last time: even if it's plainly obvious for your grammar and spelling mistakes, for me they are NOT. I can't even spell without autocorrect, so if you find any, that please let me know because I corrected anything the program told me it wrong.
Extra: Helpful tips from Yoth
(I copy pasted Yoth's suggestions from comment section.)

Episode 2
Farming relics:
Level 1 + Level 2: In 2-1 there is a random corridor with a trap hole and a ring in the wall. Pulling the ring will give you either a L1 or L2 relic, acorns or a spikeball. Just stand out of the way of the drop zone and spam the button for a solid 5 minutes. Collect your 50+ relics and hand them in.
Level 3: Farm the first boss chest, it always has one relic.
Level 4: Rush layer 3 with holy water and sell the found relics to get your money back.
Level 5: Farm the second boss chest, it always has one relic.
Always save before you hand relics in and reload if you didn't get anything new

Episode 3

I found a nice way to farm food and potions early on in episode 3. Right next to the 5-1 teleporter are three plants and a well. Collect everything, teleport to 4-5, then back to 5-1. Rinse and repeat. Now you can build as much Seaweed Gold and Abyssal Soup as you need.

If you're short on coins and need supplies, you can get garlic, firewood and mandragora root from the sparkling plants and trees in the first gravestone. Collect everything, then leave though the gravestone, go back in, repeat.

Always farm the gravestones once you kill a boss. Every gravestone has a headpiece, armor and a weapon. This is true for all 5 gravestone bosses. If you equip all three items of a boss, the next layer will be much easier. The trasure hunter ability will greatly increase the chance of rare chests on the bosses (from what felt like 20% to near 100%). Rare chests are those containing equipment.

Upgrade materials: The first three gravestone zones have 3 blue crystals in them. On every run, one of the three crystals will sparkle. Those always carry upgrade materials in them. Mostly shadow ingots, rarely vanilla. The third gravestone has almost exclusively valorous ingots.

Post game
EX2: If you want to farm the dragon boss, there is an easy way, but you need first aid at level 3. Use the dark hare staff, drink potions and save right before the fight. During the fight make ample use of full recovery potions until you kill him. You want to get the cherry blossom hairpin. Reload if he drops something else. Once you have the hair pin you have enough food to use both battle buffs and heal to 60% up to 8x during the fight. No need for potions anymore. Also helps a lot with level 180 cave mimics. Those are still a hard nut to crack, even at level 99 because they have resistance against the dark hare stun and they rarely use parriable attacks.

Yoth, thank you for all the information!

My playstyle didn't really change or improve. I killed all the mimics outside just fine, then spent almost two hours on the first one in the cave with no luck.

There might be a Märchen Forest 2 some day. I don't think they will continue with an episode 4 here. The story was told.

Glad to hear. Maybe your timing was off? I press like crazy at the start of the battle (dark hare) as I know he'll use an attack otherwise. And I learned when the timing is perfect after the mimic attacked (because dark hare doesn't work if enemy is still in "attack animation" mode). Aka, maybe you got better with your timing? Anyways, I really love he joined. It was so lonely in episode 2. And her abilities are well welcome. Sadly, I will say it again, I really wish the game didn't became "dark". I really loved episode 1 because it all bright. I really hope for an episode 4 (continue from 3 , just to perfect) were they explore the forest (that is NOT dark, but nice and bright) and maybe another episode exploring the lake or mountains? Sorry, I really wasn't happy that episode 3 was episode 2 (but WAY WAY better) as atmosphere (but again, episode 3 was the real game. Still loved episode 1 as it's own game)

I went back for the mimics. This time they seemed more cooperative. I got them all killed first try and Rosetta is now finally level 99. I don't know what the previous problem was.

As for Rosetta feeding, it's rather random. I have her on healing but sometimes I get fed five times in a row.
Green Cat  [author] 28 Nov, 2021 @ 1:13pm
(comment part 1)I know I will repeat myself: I had no issues with the EX Mimic (so sadly I can't give advice) and USE Charge UP (aka...I struggled against EX normal enemies....but the mimic dies like tearing a piece of paper.....). As I said, I sometimes got her 3-5 repeats. I did massive damage. I used Dark Hare, Mimic got knocked out ( again, it never failed on me. I did 100%, no skipped, nothing), used all buff items (attack, CHARGE UP) and once I unleashed the attack, she just repeated and repeated. And Rossetta did Massive damage as well. And because of Tactician (10 BT from start) I just reused Dark Hare if I didn't defeat it 1st time.

Always always use tents if potions are an issues. Eat your fill, use 1st Aid if HP is not full after sleep and eat again. I had tons of Potions.
Green Cat  [author] 28 Nov, 2021 @ 1:13pm
(comment part 2)
And you can use as many healing potion as you want during boss fights so I never was short. 1st Aid is worth for boss fights because Rosetta heals your Food so you can reuse 1st Aid (because you don't need Food during boss fights, so while you wait to parry, Rosetta feeds you (BTW. from my test, she feed me more times if she is in attack mode over healing mode, but it might be just me), and for non boss, just use tent after, don't save them, use them, one wrong move and your death in EX, so using tent to Save as well is perfect). And finally, another reason why I had massive amount of potions, I keep using Soul Steal against mob enemies. Once I got that skill, I never removed it. I dragged some battles just to steal HP. I had that rule that If my HP is under ~75% I'll use soul Steal. Because of this (in episode 3), I never used potion outside of boss battles (especially since I used 1st Aid and tents).

You were wondering if the ability Ruthless Attendant is worth it.

The answer is: It depends.

With Rosetta at level 50 or higher I would choose it over the relics. With the ability at level 3 she does over 15k damage consitently. It is comparable to a level 2 relic. I guess it averages out in the end, but it doesn't pay out if you skill both. Many times she will use a Haniwa for only 5k, instead of her 15k base damage, lowering her total output. The relics are worth more in the early game but less in the late game.

I only have trouble with the mimics inside the cave of the dragon. There are only 6 of them and they seem to be a shadowy version with different attack patterns compared the ones outside. I tried one about 20 times before I gave up. Only every fourth ot fifth hare attack succeeds. Most of the time I get killed by crustial movement spam without getting a chance to heal in between. All the mimics outside the cave are pushovers. I had no trouble there.

I might farm some pages, get the charge ability and try to get lucky. Thanks for the tip.

Yoth, thank you for all the info! I added a section with everything you wrote. Please tell me if you want me to rewrite anything

I'm surprised regarding lv180 cave mimics. I never had Dark Hare fail on me. Than again, because of it working 1st try + max attack + Charge UP that triggerd always, many times, I defeated thoes mimics without them attacking

I wished I knew the way to farm before, I been just going randomly while hunting book pages.

I'll add here what I remember but spoiler alert

In short, as they advance with thir research, they run out of bodies to use. So the research assistance offer themselves to be used. Until the last one remains (more about him in episode 3). So the last few entries are about the alchemist and his agony of being close but still no success and his assistance who are overjoyed to sacrifice themselves to help with the research. More or less that's what the notes are about (from what I remember). Anything more is covered by game story.
