Make sure that you have installed the game and that it is running.
If not install all the redistributables located here

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sonic Generations\redist

This will change based on where you keep your Steam games installed.

Once installed it should give you two options

a) To launch the game
b) To configure

You want to select To configure the game.

If you do not get this option, you can always launch the ConfigurationTool.exe executable located here

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sonic Generations\ConfigurationTool.exe

Here you want to change your input from your keyboard to your controller.

In the graphics section
I should note that I play at 720p, but make sure to change these settings as you see fit.

Under Audio, keep the default audio device, there is no need to change it.

Well hit Save and Quit and you are done with the basics.

You can always reorder the mods in which they have to launch, they worked for me in the order of the list. To change the order of the mods, just drag them into place.

And that is Mod Configuration done. I am aware that there are stage mods as well, but I do not cover those here, since all I care about is the experience.

After all that make sure to hit either Save or Save and Play.
