Foreword
To successfully broker peace between the Geth and the Quarians you must've done the following.

  • Completed both Tali's and Legion's loyalty missions, and have them survive suicide mission
  • Achieved 5 of the 7 hidden points split across Mass Effect 2 and 3, that count towards this specific goal
  • Have atleast 4 of the 5 bars of the reputation meter filled
  • Completed the mission Rannoch: Geth Fighter Squadron before you start Priority: Rannoch

Since most of the affordmention points are in Mass Effect 2 it's a requirment to atleast start there but a Mass Effect 1 save would help amass the required reputation. So without further ado let's get started.
Mass Effect 1
The choices in Mass Effect 1 doesn't have much impact on brokering peace beyond the reputation.

Keep in mind that while in Mass Effect 3 both Paragon and Renegade are smushed into one reputation bar, which is not the case in Mass Effect 2 and not sticking to either one could lock you out of certain options making acquiring the required reputation harder.

If you want to go Paragon pick the Spacer backstory and the War Hero profile for a bonus of 20 Paragon and spend points on the charm skill to unlock more Paragon options.

For Renegade pick the Earthborn backstory and the Ruthless profile for an extra 20 Renegade and level up your Intimidation skill for unlocking more Renegade options.
Mass Effect 2
Stick to either Paragon or Renegade since the Paragon/Renegade checks are based on your current level of the relevant reputation meter instead of Charm/Intimidate as the previous game was.

Tali: Treason

Completing this mission without getting her exiled will grant you 2 points.

It is recommended that you either pick the Paragon/Renegade option or rally the crowd if you didn't turn over Veetor to Cerberus and saved Kal'Reegar's life when you recruited Tali since having her be loyal makes it easier for her to survive the suicide mission (read my previous guide for more info about that).

Legion: A House Divided

Selecting to destroy the heretics at the end of this mission will grant you 2 points.

Post mission argument

Choosing either the Paragon or Renegade speech option will grand you 1 point. Reconciling after the argument will not grant you any points.

Note

If you miss any one of these you can recover in the next game, but missing two or more will make it impossible to achieve peace, so either live with the fact that one of the species involved will be extinct, or you know just reload a previous save and try again.
Prior to Priotity: Rannoch
Complete either Rannoch: Admiral Koris or Rannoch: Geth Fighter Squadrons, or both of them.

Completing Rannoch: Admiral Koris will grant you one point with an additional one if you choose to save Admiral Koris over his men.
Priority: Rannoch
Complete the mission as usual.

In the end, when Legion is trying to upload the reaper source code to the Geth, at the first selection chose either to let him upload or not since this choice doesn't matter, then at the second prompt choose either to Rally the Fleet (Paragon) or Warn the Fleet (Renegade). Doing so will make the Quarian fleet stand down and not attack the Geth.

There is a piece of advice I want to share which goes contrary to this guide -- don't bother with peace between Geth and Quarians.

Let Tali die in ME2 suicide mission -- you will then be able to bring two competent squadmates with you on the Disable Geth Dreadnought and Priority: Rannoch missions.

Taking Garrus and James with maxed out weapon damage, giving them N7 Typhoons with high-velocity barrels and magazine upgrades, and using James' squad incendiary ammo specced for explosion at rank 6 will let you sit back and enjoy watching them shred those 3 Geth Primes to confetti even on Insanity.

The best part? You don't even need stupid, warmongering, Quarian fleet for a perfect ending (Destroy, Shepard lives), and you get to speak with a cool Geth Prime instead of Tali in Priority Earth -- he even has more to say than she does.

Just let the Quarians go the way of the dodo, you know you want it.

Since it doesn't appear to be fully stated; Your Paragon/Renegade level matters too. Like the one's before, not having the appropriate level of either will lock you out of either alternative dialogue, which either is ultimately required to receive this ending.

So as noted here, since it IS a multi-game dedication to this outcome, stick to whether yo uwant to be paragon or renegade, to help bolster you to that requirement. You can make every correct choice and not be at the right level.
