[LEP] Project Eurus. [The East Wind 1960-2000]

This is the official mod release for project Eurus. This mod includes factions and gear associated with Altis between 1960 and 1982. Currently it contains the RAR , AAF 1970S, Greek70s/80s, Turkey 70s/80s, British 70s/80s and various FIA Factions[1960s-1980s]. In the newest update the mod has been expanded to include variations for the 90s and 2000s as well.

It currently requires SOG,GM DLCs, "The free world armory" and Dmorchards CDLC crossover mod.

A note from the developer:

The mod has been heavily inspired by the conflict in Cyprus during the 60s and the Turkish invasion at 1974. A bloody and shameful period for my country where greed,religion and Nationalism blinded as, causing hundreds of deaths/rapes and refugees from both sides of the conflicts. All culminating in an outrageous so called "intervention" by Turkey which left thousands of deaths and refugees and untold number of crimes against the civilian population. To this day half of Cyprus remains occupied making Nicosia the last divided capital in the world causing thousands of people unable return to their homes, and paradoxically the Turkish-Cypriot population feeling oppressed by the Turkish immigrants who came here. !!!!

At the end of the day this islamd cannot trully have future without a meaningfull and lasting solution. It is my hope that bloodshed and violence should remain only within this game and that never again will such hatred and violence be allowed to occur !!!!

Lore:

Altis , the small island in the Mediterranean has never been Independence. It has always been under one foreign ruler or other. The British had firm rule by the end of the 19th century.
The 20th century however would cause radical changes on the island. Two world wars would ravage the Mediterranean and cause upheaval all over the world. Altians saw active combat both home and abroad with the Royal Altian regiment (RAR) fighting for the british army abroad but also at home when the Axis invaded Altis.
After the war an Independence movement grew. Initially the british gave some ground by giving partial home rule at 1958. That wasn't enough however .Altians seaked full indipendance and by the 1963s a small insurgency grew , naming themselfs the FIA.
By 1968 with bloodshed growing the British gave Altis its Independence. So the Altian republic was born. Officially a democratic state the government quickly became corrupt and pro eastern. Altis became a haven for communists escaping from other European countries since communist was tolerated. The soviet union states sending aid and military supplies aggravating Nato. So at 1974 a Greek backed military coup took place overthrowing the government. A military junta was formed and ruled with an iron fist. Prosecutions of communists, liberal, and and political/culture dissidents led to open rebellion. Mostly consisting of two rebel groups , the FSA(Freedom and Socialism Army) and the FIA. Together this unlikely alliance was taking the upper-hand during the civil war with the FSA dominating the alliance. By 1981 the government army had almost collapsed so NATO desired to step in. Officially to stop communism and aid the government. Nato forces quickly reversed the tide of war but the leader of the Junta Akintheros started becoming paranoid. Fearing that Nato would try to overthrow him. Hence after fabricating a nato attack on his troops, he declared that nato was trying to conquer the island and order the AAF to attack the Nato troops. And so the alliances changed once again. Nato started cooperating with the FIA remnants and fought to capture and overthrow General Akintheros, finally establishing democracy on the island with the help of the FIA.

Factions:

-Altian Armed Forces : The armed forces of Altis for the 70s,80s. Containing both eastern and western equipment in order to reflect the outside influence on the island
Subfactions of the AAF:
KDF- kavala Defence Force. The army division designated with guarding Kavala as well as the presidential palaca
Ram Division- A division speciallizing in mountain warfare stationed near Oreocastro.

-SRA: Sossialist Republic of Altis

-Royal Altian Regiment: An Altian regiemt in the servises of the British army. It fought during ww2 and was put in charge of the security of the island between 1958 to 1968

-Greek army 70s/80s

-Turkish army 70s/80s/90s - Both for Bluefor and Opfor sides in order to allow for greater roleplaying capabilities

-British Advisors - British Advisatory force in Altis (70s)

-British Army 1980s - units only for infantry and SAS (desert and woodland)

-FIA: For Bluefor,Opfor,Indfor containing different weapons and gear for each side in order to reflect their backers

-FIA original (60s) - The original FIA movement pre indipendance.
