1. Install game and forse to run by Proton.
Game will ask for registration key.

2. Find the directory <where you placed Steam>.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/215930/pfx/

3. Open the file user.reg

4. Find (Ctrl+F "iDeal") the headline [Software\\ideal-games\\ja2 wildfire] in it.

5. Paste the following line between the lines "path" and "serialkey":
"Registration"=hex:3c,2f,6f,22,a3,a0,50,22,58,8f,60,22,1e,2d,ad,20

6. Save changes and Play!

Must work on Linux Mint and Ubuntu.

Don't works, game stops instantly after clicking play without providing to much details.

for some reason.. when I start the game, all graphics are nice until the initial box to select new game / continue comes up.. colours go away, and all colours are replaced with monocrome red .. even continuing, it stays RED (all colours are red and shades of red!) WTF??
