Aircrafts
In Panzer Tactics HD you have to dominate the air to win the war! The most obvious tactical advantage of the aircrafts lies in their range. Aircrafts have the highest amount of movement range in the entire game. They can move over any kind of terrain and are therefore ideal for scouting missions or attacks from a distance. Important: Stay away from air defense units!

Fighters

Fighters, such as the German Messerschmitt Bf 109, are the backbone of every army. They are able to attack any kind of unit, but they are commonly used to attack enemy aircrafts – especially to counter attacks from Level or Tactical Bombers. Fighters don‘t deal as much damage against infantry units and even less against heavy armored vehicles, with a few exceptions, like the Messerschmitt Me262, which, surprisingly, is very strong against armored units. However, because of their supporting fire and their long range they are still very effective as supporting defense units around towns and airports.

Level Bombers

Level Bombers were used to damage an enemy's military and logistics capabilities. Preferred targets were factories, railway stations and traffic junctions; these were attacked by entire fleets of Level Bombers. Depending on the type of plane, bombs weighing up to 10,000 kg could be transported. The American Flying Fortress and the British Lancaster were two of the best-known bombers of the Second World War. In Panzer Tactics HD Level Bombers, like the Heinkel He-111, are very strong against unarmed units like infantry and artillery. So before attacking enemy territory with your ground troops, make sure that your Level Bombers have attacked that area first – of course you have to eliminate any air defense units before doing so.

Aircrafts are not the only means of transportation. Infantry and soft target units, like artillery or anti-air guns, can be mounted on transport vehicles.

Tactical Bombers

Tactical Bombers were used either alone or with ground troops to achieve short-term tactical advantages, such as breaching through a well-defended area or bombing armored units like bunkers. Famous Tactical Bombers of the Second World War include the German Stuka, the Soviet Ilyushin and the British Mosquito. While the planes developed for this purpose could not match the strategic bombers in size and capacity, they were versatile and heavily armored so they are able to survive without fighter-backup for a short period of time. Nonetheless, when flying into enemy territory, don’t forget that they don’t have air-to-air-weapons.

Winning a fight may be more or less probable, depending on the situation. To help you determine your chances in a fight is the indicator located at the top of the screen. The numbers indicate how many units will probably be lost, when executing the attack order.
