@rcXuRyan "only 2000" that's nearly 20% casualties that's considered very heavy by most standards.

Bastogne didn't involve such heavy fighting, it was mainly artillery barrages and very few direct assault. US propaganda made it seems like it was a tough fighting for 101th, but it only had 2000 casualties. Germans force that surrounded Bastogne even had less number.
